Lexmark x3430 low ink warning

I got a lex x3430 as a gift. It uses a #24 cartridge. The way it is set up it will not print when the ink warning says it is time to reorder ink even though there is ink left. The Lexmark service person I contacted said it is designed to do that and is a single use cartridge. I refilled it and it still shows order ink and will not print. Is there a way to get around this by deleting the ink warning? If so could you let me know what files need to be deleted? Tx, Chromazar

I have the same problem with the x3420. I replaced the cartridge with a new one and it still displays the "ink low" message and will not print. Is there any way to reset the printer once you change the cartridge ?

    Thanks for the help

When you installed the new ink cartridge did you go into your program menu and find the lexmark solution center? If not, you have to go to the solution center, choose the maintenance menu and tell it you have installed the new ink cartridge. If you don't it will not recognize the new one.

I have read in another forum that the #24 ink cartridge is designed only for single use but there is a #24a you must purchase, which can be refilled and reused. i hope that is of use to someone

You could try uninstalling the thing compleatly then restart the pc and reinstall it. Don't know if that will help. Sometimes refilled cartridges just don't work and you end up spending the money on a new one anyway.

How to override lexmark s415 low ink

There's no way to override the low ink warning. If one of the cartridges is out of ink, you won't be able to continue printing.

Refilled cartridges will not report or reset the ink levels.

Lexmark S305 won't authenticate ink non brand

Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, re-manufactured or clone cartridges. You might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark. Also, when you use off-brand inks and cartridges, there is no way for Lexmark to be sure that materials and engineering choices used by a third party will not result in poor print quality or damage to your printer.
I highly recommend that you return your third-party cartridge if you still can get a refund and purchase genuine Lexmark cartridges instead.
Here's a tip to save on ink: A 100 "standard yield" cartridge for your model has a low sales price, but contains less ink. Your best value is a 100XL "high yield" cartridge. These have a higher sticker price, but contain almost 3 times as much ink as their standard yield cousins.

For the most optimal output experience with your model, I recommends that you update your printer firmware. The firmware helps ensure that you receive the highest yields of ink available from the cartridges, which offers the greatest value and means fewer necessary cartridge replacements. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark S300 Series Firmware Update. If more than one download is listed for your model, choose the first download in the list. If it is the wrong firmware level, an error message will tell you which firmware level is correct.

Can one reset the Lexmark P6250 printer refilled cartridge?

No, you can usually tell your printer to "ignore ink levels" when it gives the ink low warning on your computer screen. As long as they print just keep printing until they run out.

Changed black ink caertridge but still getting the low ink warning

If you are using a remanufactured cartridge, the low ink warning is actually normal. Since the printer cannot detect the amount of ink in the cartridge, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. Unfortunately, when the cartridges are remanufactured, the chip is unable to be reset. Here is a link to a site that sells remanufactured cartridges on how to bypass the low ink warning on Lexmark printers:

Left ink cartridge incorrect

There are a small number of #23/#24 cartridges that are not properly recognized by the printer. Lexmark has a firmware upgrade to correct this issue. The upgrade for the X3430 is available from Lexmark at:

To install the firmware upgrade,
  1. Make sure the printer is ON and connected with a USB cable.
  2. Download and run the appropriate firmware upgrade for your computer.
  3. Be sure not to disconnect or power off the printer until the upgrade is complete

When the update finishes the printer will restart and will accept the cartridges. Please contact Lexmark support if this does not fix the problem.

This works for the X3550 and X4550 models. A similar patch is available for the X3430 and Z1420 models. See http://bit.ly/LoXxv

Lexmark x3430 need ink cartriage

This is the only information I could find. Didn't your printer come with a black and color ink cartridge? If it did, all you need to do is take the ink cartridge out and write down the numbers written on the cartridge. The only ink cartridge I could positively confirm was the #24 color ink cartridge. The Lexmark website does not list any black ink cartridges for this model. This information was obtained from Officemax.com.
