Question about Refrigerators
My ice maker is jammed. I can feel the frozen water, but it won't empty. I need instructions on how to remove the ice maker and replace with new one, if necessary. Ice maker works but jams frequently and I have water that runs out of the ice maker and into the ice storage area creating one large ice cube. Some of the cubes that come out are not total cubes as well. Do I need to replace the icemaker, or is there something else I can do? I have a Sub-zero series 532 refrigerator that is a built in.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

There should be a screw or two that if removed will allow the unit to pull free. The rest you have seen...Take it out and let it thaw then replace it and see if it works if not then get a new one....

SOURCE: Sub zero 532 ice maker
When my repair tech came out, he showed me that the fill tube sometimes retracts toward the rear of the freezer. He simply pulled it forward with a pair of needle nose pliers until it rested in the delivery reservoir. This placement allows the detector to know when the tray is full and shut off; thus not overfilling the freezing tray and/or splashing additional water onto the freezer wall and into the ice cube drawer.

yea! I have been without cubes for 2 years. I slid out the tray, found the lever in the back where the rod went in, pulled it down, reinserted the ice tray, and IT WORKED! At first I thought I broke the lever, because I had to hold it down with a knife while I was inserting the tray, but it just must have been stuck. I am soooo happy!

Water dispenser is a simple touch switch in door energizing a solenoid water valve behind ventilation grate above refrigerator. Water tube runs down into and ends at ice dispenser chute. Should hear solenoid click at top of fridge when activate water touch switch. Can unhook discharge side of solenoid valve temporarily to prove water output. If water dispenser tube acts blocked it could be frozen where it ends-look up the hole at the bottom of refrigerator control buttons.
Ice maker is totally different system. No clicking when push ice button but ice in bulk tray may mean the simplest of malfunctions: Ice bin not pushed in the last half inch if ice auger not lined up with drive pegs. There are hidden switches behind ice bin that need to be engaged or nothing will happen in the ice maker: no auger noise, no clicking, no new ice making. Ice bin will be flush with sheet metal if it is in the right spot. Also plastic juice rack won't hang properly if ice bin not pushed in all the way.

Check in two places either behind the fridge or under the cabnit where the water supply is. If not there then check up underneath th back of the fridge
