Question about Canon PIXMA iP4300 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Not sure if you saw this comment I posted?

Thanks for all these comments: the 3/4 price for new seems to be for a new print head (quoted at USD46.95)- it would be 100% of new in UK where I live!. In either case it would be a lot to pay if there is any uncertainty if it will work.
Your 10 usd (plus 10usd mailing to UK) replacement head kit seems to be a repair kit, and is certainly a bargain price and might be worth trying, as long as it does not wreck the printer ( it still works just fine for black&white).
Any furhter comments before I try something?
Thanks everyone - Alexyxx

Hi

Try to clean it manually by removing the ink cartridge and then clean the print head with softcloth with rubbing alcohol. Then rub again the printhead into a plain paper until ink flows. Then try to print again.

Every time I print, the printout always has black horizontal lines on top of the requested document. How do I fix this? This has now been happening for the past week.

Hi

I believe the print head is clog and need to clean it. Try this solution.

Remove the ink cartridge and clean the print head using a cloth with rubbing alcohol to remove clogged ink in the print head. Then rub the printhead into a plain paper until ink flows. Then try to print again

If still not working, run the print nozzle for 2-3 times to clean thoroughly.

Printed photos have white vertical lines running throughout

Those are lines where the printer heads are not printing. Since in this printer the head is part of the cartridge you must clean the contact thoroughly, verify the data cable and replace the cartridges with original new ones.
If this doesn't fixes it then the defect is in the controller of the printer - the memory buffer that stores the image when it's received from the pc and sends it one line at the time to the printing heads . This cannot be repaired - the printer is dead.

Epson C86 print head/cartridge head won't move.

Hi Beverley

There is some confusion here. You say "ink sponge needs replacing" in an Epson C86 (although you have your query posted under HP Officejet 5610!) - I presume you mean the waste ink pads. If so, you need to dismantle the printer - the pads are not under the print head but deep inside the case. I can provide all the information you need to complete this task if you really want to do it yourself. Please post a new comment requesting this assistance if you do.

I don't know for sure that it will help, but try to work through the Hp troubleshooter for your printer and see if you can't come up with a solution

Epson stylus color 880

This is a very late response to your query, but you did have it in the C46 section. It sounds like you have blocked heads but there could be other reasons such as a faulty print head or main board. If you still require help with this problem, please post a new comment to this effect.

Printer will not print

For all four cartridges to stop delivering ink simultaneously would seem to indicate that something significant has happened (e.g. main board problem). However, it is a long time since you posted this problem with no help forthcoming. If you still have the problem will you post a new comment here, otherwise let's call it solved!

Print head carriage drive belt failure.

The 710 is a very old printer. A new printer of similar quality can be bought for less than the price of the ink cartridges in the 710.
The belt is a difficult item to replace even for a tech, if you can even find one.
I'd recommend shopping for a new printer, you'll be much happier with a more up to date one anyway.
I'm an HP fan so will recommend sticking with HP.
Good luck and Thanks for stoppin by!

Printer not printing items copied from canon scanner D1250U2F

Connecting a non HP scanner[Canon] to the printer may be a software mod on the printer so that it will only work with HP devices. The only way round that if this is the case is to work through a third party software[image editor]
