You can still splice them but i prefered to solder it first then use heatshrink to cover the wire connection.

You can recharge the battery at any time. I usuly use mine then when done using it I put it back on the charger so I know it will be charged the next time I need it.

The service centers have stated in unison that it is no longer "cost effective " for them to repair these. They claim they are a "disposable" item and should be replaced once worn out. This may surprise you, but I suggest that you remove (if you have to drill it out then fine) the blade and attempt to sharpen it some. Or leave it off and replace it with a large cutting razor type blade used for shears etc. They do make sharp blades large enough to do the job. You just have to find them.

I have cut through the cable of a black and decker hedge trimmer Can it be repaired?

yes. you can just connect the red wire to the red wire, white to white, green to green, black to black... you probably only have 2 wires in the cable. strip the insulation back, then take the wires and see if you have enough slack to connect them back by more than 2 in.. if not, add a 8" section of wire and splice it back in with wire nuts or other securement and cover it all in electrical tape very well... it will corrode much quicker now its been exposed to the elements... but use its life up before you get rid of it i say.
