I see these every day, note: also fixes AV 2008 and many others.

This Malware is known as "Rogue anti-virus" software.

This program will remove it: http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=5360&file=10&evp=2e0d43eb67e1e71c0b31e62c003599c0
the website that has it also has a really good antispyware program called malwarebytes

www.malwarebytes.org

once you run a full scan in this program run this program:
http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE
it's another free antispyware. these are both professional grade removal software for free. I remove this stuff about 3 times a day. It seems this outbreak is the largest I've ever seen.

If you want a good protection suite that will keep it out buy a copy of NOD32 (www.nod32-av.com) another you may not have heard of, it will block this and many others before it even gets on your computer.

Go to my computer. Go into the programs folder and delete the Norton folder.

I hate Dell sometimes for putting this in. We just brought some computers in the office and I pulled the Norton off and deleted the folders and it went away. The other thing I did is went into Microsoft.com and installed Windows One Care. I bet if you put that in, it might clean up the registry of Norton, the folders of Norton in you program files as well as hidden Norton files. In fact you might notice your computer will go faster. Its free on trial for 90 days and it isn't a hog like Norton can be with the memory. Even if you don't buy it you can still use it. It's a good deal. It's $45.00 for 3 machines.

How can I get rid of Internet Antivirus 2011 program from my laptop?

Oh you just cannot get rid of that. It's a malware that spreads all over your PC. There's no action that can prevent it from being active. There are some programmes that <<remove it>, but I do not recommend them. The best thing to do is to format your PC and don't get fooled again. You can buy a good Antivirus like Panda Internet Security for about 30 euros/year. Hope this helps :)

A virus called personal security has invaded my wifes laptop and wont allow entry to anything to uninstall/remove, or even access the internet

HI,

You will have to boot with a antivirus boot rescue disk.

If you have an antivirus installed and you made such a disk, use it.

Install an antivirus. If you cannot do this in the normal mode, restart the comp in safe mode. Press the F8 key when booting and you can enter that mode.

After cleaning, you can proceed.

If you have no rescue disk, you can try the rescue disk by drweb antivirus. It is created new everyday, so get it from the website. download and burn on another pc then use it with your wives laptop.

firstly download a good anti virus and spyware programme for example AVG 8 Free.
Antivirus 2008 needs to be removed in safe mode (press F8 on start up) and select start windows in safe mode, choose windows XP, then choose the administrator account and the run the anti virus then restart your pc

Toshiba Laptop - Antivirus 2009

This is known as a non intrusive advertisement trojan, a virus that antivirus companies are now using. These viruses will not do any damage to your machine, but they are very annoying. They are almost impossible to get rid, and here's why. When the virus is activated it places several copies of itself throughout the system. These copies lie dormant, which makes them hard to find, in areas or files that are considered safe by your antivirus, and aren't checked on a regular basis. Then when you get rid of the active virus, one or two more, but not all, will open leaving several more behind. After a few months the number is exponential. There are two ways of making the pop ups stop, but only one to be completely rid of it. 1- buy the product, pay on a monthly basis, and spend entirely too much money for what you're getting, and then have them come back if you cancel or miss a payment. 2- the only sure fire way to get rid of them is to wipe the hard drive, reformat, and install a new operating system. If you do this you will be rid of it, but you cannot back up anything. The virus hides in everything from pictures, music, video, screen savers, to registry files. Anything could be infected and bring the virus into the new system. I realize that this isn't what you want to hear, I've tried everything here at my shop for customers with this problem, and unfortunately, this is the only sure solution.

Permission on acer 5315

Yes you can turn them off. Go to the control panel and find your firewall settings. You need to config which programs you want to allow permanently. You should have someone who knows what they are doing, ie. service tech, config the whole PC for you. Sounds like that has not been done yet.

I have doctor antivirus pop ups

Unfortunately, the only way I've found to be completely rid a machine of this is to wipe the hard drive and reload the operating system. This is an advertisement virus and this particular bug leaves several sleepers that lie inactive making it near impossible for any antivirus to find them. Once you get rid of the active virus, one or two, but not all of the sleepers will activate leaving several more hidden and inactive, and what makes it even harder to "get rid of" is that it hides the sleepers in file that your antivirus normally doesn't check on a regular basis, ie... picture files, music, screen savers, etc.. It will also hide them in registry files, so doing a system repair won't work either.

Hi,
heres 1 possible solution.
uninstall Norton, and Download AVG free from the internet.
Install AVG get the latest updates, and put Norton to 1 side, to use as a coaster or Beer-mat.
