SOURCE: my aiptek camcoder is not

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

SOURCE: when i insert memory card

Usually on the side of the memory card is a tab you can slide to lock or protect the info on it. Try sliding the tab to establish comunication with your unit. Hope this helps.

Dropped my canon eos350d with 18-55m lens. where the lens attaches to the camera is broken ie the casing along the edge that connects to the camera, hence light is getting in and camera is not functioning...

I'm trying to read this correctly, is it the lens that is cracked or the camera/camera body mount?
If it is just the lens you may find it less expensive to purchase a new lens the 18-55mm is a kit lens and fairly inexpensive to purchase over repairing one. If it is the camera I'm not sure what to suggest and the repair would be very expensive to replace the chassis outer body.

I have an AIPTEK camera and every time I try to use it it freezes. Is it broken forever or is there a way I can fix it? I got it from target to be honest, which probably wasn't the best choice. The battery...

Don't bother to send it to Aiptek for repair.

I sent them my Pencam 1.3SD camera. They kept it for 2 months. Every time I sent a email asking if they had repaired it, the email reply was always the same.....

" Chris " is working on it !

I finally received it, and you guessed it. It wasn't working !!!

Yesterday, I opened it up, and repaired that fault in about 20 seconds.

Camcorder lcd screen light blue (blank) and camera won't turn off...

Sounds like maybe a connection somewhere inside the camera came loose? Or maybe the camera's firmware (camera's operating system) is damaged? I'm honestly not sure what would cause this. You could try contacting Aiptek customer service or you could post this issue at http://forums.steves-digicams.com/forums/view_forum.php?id=92

and see if anyone there is familiar with this problem.

Cannon ZR 60 camcoder Cassette copartment does not open

Loading unit problem is a common mechanical problem in camcorders. To remedy the problem, trained tech need to disassemble the mechanical system around the loading and replace few broken gears (plastics) and adjust it. Repair cost may run close to half of the new camcorder. If you really got to repair this camera for some sentimental reason or for special needs otherwise better to invest the repair charge into a new camcorder.
