Av is flashing

When I turn the camera on the Av starts blinking and the camera won't do anything. I don't find this problem in the troubleshooting part of the manual and can't seem to get it to do anything.

Help please!

Have you tried taking the batteries out and putting them back in to reset the camera?

Make sure the aperture setting on the lens is set to "A". Solved the problem.

I cant find a book on Pentax support website for this camera. It is http://www.pentax.jp/english

I have a feeling the the camera is in the wrong mode for viewing. Does this camera have an option to plug an AV cable into it and display the image on a monitor rather than the screen? It could be a cable that controls it or a setting on the camera that needs to be turned off.

You could take into a camera shop and they can get the camera out of that mode and show you how it works.

You'll find a full manual from http://www.pentaximaging.com/support/manuals-and-literature/

You should have a proper lens attached and the film loaded before you can take pictures.

Nikon N75 - error message, nothing working.

You have to reset the rewind counter by pushing the two buttons simultaneously - one on the side of the lens mount, the other by the release button - red, cassette symbols. This tells the camera there's no film in it.

Canon eos 50 flash

According to the manual, if you have the selector set in any of the "creative" modes (P, Av, Tv, M) the built in flash will only work if you press the button to pop up the flash. It also references a "hot shoe cover" which, if inserted into the hot shoe for external flash, will prevent the built in flash from working.

You can download the manual here. (The EOS Elan II is the same as the EOS 50.)

Error "Err05" keeps initiating preventing flash operating

There are two versions of this problem: 1. The flash does not pop-up. 2. The flash does pop-up.

Here’s the fix to the err05 msg when the flash does pop-up. This will work on the XTi and perhaps on similar Canon cameras:

The pop-up flash has two legs. Look at the pivot point of the right leg (”right” when looking into the lens). Just in front of the pivot is a very small spring-load pin on the “roof” of the camera body.
This pin is the sensor that tells the camera the state of the flash. The pin is pushed down when the pop-up flash is closed and is suppose to quickly spring up when the flash is opened. Problem is, the pin sometimes gets dirty and drags. When it is slow to spring up … you get the err05 message.

Fix: Take a small jeweler’s screwdriver and dip the tip in isopropyl alcohol. (Don’t use any other solvent unless it’s designed for cleaning electronic parts!) Then touch the screwdriver tip to the pin. Do this several times until the pin area is nicely wet. Then push the pin up and down until it is able to spring up quickly.

Enjoy.

My camera won't do anything but flash the Err message

Make sure the lens you are using on the camera is set to the minimum aperture setting. i.e. f22,f32 (highest f stop number)

Flash override

You can use the camera in the P,Tv,Av, or M modes without the flash popping up or firing. P would be the easiest to use.

Flash not working

It is either the small flash tube or trigger coil that need replacing . If you decide to do the job yourself, make sure you discharge the main capacitor before you start working on the camera ( when charged holds +- 300 v)
