1 Answer

I have a fridgidaire dryer model number FDEC647RFS1, I just taken it apart because of squeeking and a bit of noise. On the door the seal that goes around the drum is burnt and worn out can I replace, it looks as it's glued to it. Help! Thank you.

Ge frontloader dryer is squeeking incessantly, high pitch squeek driving us all crazy. by manually turning the drum i can isolate the squeek, but cannot see anything wrong. does it need to be taken...

There is a teflon bearing that holds the back of the drum you will need to replace. To get to it remove the top cover, take off the control panel, remove the front cover, take off the belt, then take the drum out, ususlly by lifting it up as you pull it foward. While have it all apart I would reccomend replacing the teflon glides at the front that the drum rides on.

Squeaking noise with acceleration

arm yourself with a can of silicon spray and use it where you think the squeek is coming from,if you do it bit by bit you can then sort out the squeek at source....may take awhile but it WORKS.
i once had a client who moaned for months about a front squeek on a volvo,we had it in 30 plus times....i found it....the rear door rubber
seals were dry.....he insisted it was from the front.....

Loud noise while running

you are gonna have to get inside the unit to determine whats defective...

if you want a parts breakdown i would recomend going to sears. com clicking on the section parts and service usually upper right corner, then click parts, u should be in their parts direct section enter you model number which u can find when u open ur dryer door their should be a sticker or tag somewhere that will list it.. find ur model or sometin similiar uually last digits designate color so it doesnt matter. you can see how the unit comes apart or get prices or part numbers on specific parts.

I would personally check the operation for defectiveness on your belt, rollers, idler pully, and possibly a seal if yor dryer has sometype of glides or seal.. hope this helps

How do I find the model number on my regular Whirlpool gas dryer?

The model # is usual located on the inside frame of the door. Open the door and look where the door closes.

Squealing noise on start up drying still works

This dryer needs to be taken apart to lubricate any and all moving parts. Idler pulley and rollers, if they are worn out in any way, replace them.
Also, consider a new belt.

Drum makes noise after I unscrewed the screws inside the machine.

You will have to remove the drum from the front and replace the drum support cup kit.

Dryer squeek when running

A squeak is usually a roller that needs grease. It's best taken care of, you don't want the roller to wear out. Take the dryer apart, remove the drum and use heat resistant grease on the roller shafts. Note how the belt goes so you will be able to get it back on. You may need snap ring pliers to get at the roller shafts.

Fridgidaire dryer

In dryers, the small clothes can get caught in one of the drum seals and make a scrapping noise, ( remove power, grab a flash light and have a peek inside through the door opening ) or the cloth can actually pass through one of the heating duct holes at the back of the drum and touch something electrical like the heating element, thermostats and so the noise comming.
