My Alienware M11X R2's screen broke completely off. I thought I could just hook up an HDMI cable and use the base with a monitor but it keeps beeping... and the video wont show up on the monitor.

Do you mean that the hinges broke and the screen is no longer attached to the laptop. I googled ' Alienware M11X R2 screen' and one of the first results is a story from PC World which contains:

"Dell will repair broken hinges on any Alienware M11x system for any R1 or R2 customer worldwide regardless of warranty status," wrote Dell's John Blain, in a blog entry on the company's website.

check to see if your vga cable is properly connected at both ends i.e. at the monitors end as well as the computers end. In case it doesn't solve the issue then your vga port is damaged.

The first check you could make is if every component is correctly plugged.
When the pc starts it makes a control of all components before booting. You may want to check also internal components.
For this reason is also useful to know if when the pc starts it does only one "beep" or a "beep code" (for instance one long and one short "beep" or two long "beeps" ecc)
If everything is correctly plugged it may be a motherboard problem.

Hp pavilion a1220n comptur will not start unplugged unit and when i plugged to back in it would not start

Do you see anything on the monitor screen? Does the tower make any beeping noise or clicking noise, or does the fan tries to start up when you power the computer on? Are the cables connected properly?
If you see anything on the monitor screen, or if you hear a beeping sound, let us know so we can diagnose further.

Sytem wont boot

This time your system is very ok... theres a possible reason why its automatically on without pressing the button and cannot see a device even hard disk...
Here is a tip:
1. Check the CMOS Battery maybe its weak, or try to change it a new one, and
2. Change also your power supply it might the current flow of electricity are not normal... i know its ridiculous but i experience just like yours...

Keeps beeping has black screen

hi there,
this kind of sound on computer related to a hardware problem.unplug your computer if you can open the cover of your computer and try to disconnect the i.d.e cable of your hardisk, floopy and cd room, try to plug in and switch on your pc,
if the screen open,or the star up open ,either hardisk,cd room and floopy is defective.if still black screen is on your screen, you should have spare of video card and memory card,or put your memory card to other pc if your memory card is defective or good, also with your video card,or if you have spare of video card and memory card
put on to your pc have it installed and plug in then switch on if screen appear on your monitor, either video or memory card is defective.try to isolate w/c is defective.but if still black screen appear on your monitor after having replace a good video and memory cardyou have, defective mother board.
well isolate patrs of your pc defectiveness using other pc or using spare of part of pc you can trouble shoot and detect what causes your pc shutdown.if you can't do this call service technician to do this job near your location.have a nice day and don't forget to rate me.thank's

PC wont go on & beeps...

thats mostlikely one of the wire's for your speakers, printer or any other device yuo have that needs power..
If so that wont help your pc in any way.

I'd untangle and trace the wire back to see where it's coming from to be safe.
Also if your pc is plugged in along with your monitor and you can turn both on and you still get an error, then you have a problem. I'd submit a new question detaling the error or beeps your getting.
