Question about BEL 950 Radar Detector
Get an error message ?LO3 CAL It will stay in this mode until I turn it off and on several times. At times even this doesn't work and I will wait a day or so.
SOURCE: Bel 980 problem
Mine has the same problem, but it seems to be caused mainly by excessive heat, mainly from being in the window of a hot car in the summer sun. Mine rarely does it in the winter. I suspect the CAL part has to do with a calibration fault when it self-tests itself when it's first turned on.
What I usually do is to pull the detector out of the mount and hold it in front of the air conditioning vent so that the cool air can go in though the holes in the case. It may take several minutes of cooling in this manner before it can power up without the LO CAL 1 message.
