Question about Dell Inspiron 8600 Notebook

2 Answers

Blue Screen I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 which is about 5 years old. I was printing photographs yesterday when I got a blue screen stating an error was encountered and was dumping my memory. It also stated to disconnect all new hardware and software installed which I did not install. Please advise on how to resolve. Thank You James DePodesta

Well I got the blue screen last evening again so I did not see a code at the top of the screen. The following is information appearing in a section called Technical Information which is about 3/4 down the screen:

    Stop: 0X0000000A (0XF8BB32C0, 0X00000002, 0X00000001, 0X804D9B68)

    Dumping Physical Memory

    Physical Memory Dumbped

Any heip would be much appreciated?

    Thanks

    Jim

Depending on the code, will point us in the direction for resolution.

0x00000050 for example normally points to a bad memory module.

as far a "Price" I can let you know how much I'd expect to pay to resolve the issue if I had to pay for some thing

    James

The most important piece of information in the Blue Screen error is the stop error code in the top left corner of the screen, please post that information.

Also, try booting to the safe mode, F8 at boot, and see if you can get to the safe mode, then reboot and see if you can boot to normal mode.

What does error code Stop: 0X0000000A (0XF8BB32C0, 0X00000002, 0X00000001, 0X804D9B68), mean? What do I need to do to make my computer work?

Likely a driver issue.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314063

Boot to the safe mode, run a system restore to before the problem, see if it is resolved. A lot of the time, issues like this are caused by a combination for old drivers and new windows updates.

try to start in safe mode and if this is start normally , probably you have a virus, or a wrong driver installed. If you get the same error blue screen also in safe mode is possible to have an imperfect connection between hard disk and mother board, or a RAM failure Those are most common problems. If you don`t have important data to lose on system partition, try to reinstall the system operation (windows) If you get the same blue screen , ... definitely you have hardware problems like HDD or RAM malfunction.

Blue screen

A blue screen means operating system error. Your operating system will have to be either repaired or reinstalled using your recovery disc or operating system disc. A blue screen can also occur with a hard drive failure/crash. It's about 50/50 between system error and hard drive failure. If you have any issues or problems during or after the repair/reload of the operating system, then it's the hard drive and it will need to be replaced.

Above is the directions of how to get to the video board:
I would check the LCD connector first.

Here is the service manual for it.

It will show you how to take it apart.
