Hi,
my BF162 is playing up, similar to problems listed here....
I phoned a local repair agent who came out & looked at it, and said it was the programmer (PCB). He agreed to order the part & come back to repair it. Left me waiting for 4 weeks, until after much chasing they said it was impossible to get the part & I would need to find someone with very good contacts, but they could sell me a new machine - hahaha
Went online & ordered relacement part, spent 2 hours fiddling around, replacing the card (simple, but does require some patience) Turned machine back on full of hope, still have exactly the same error. Have wasted £30 on a bogus call out, & another £65 on a PCB that was perfectly ok.
The last time I switched it on, the 2 middle lights were on solid. Closed the door, it is has done some more pumping, it made a little chirp whilst it was pumping. Now the 2nd light is flashing rapidly
I think I'll cut my losses & just replace the machine, my advice to anyone esle is just to pay the extra & get the Hotpoint man out first! In my case it was false economy to use a cheaper cowboy.
Is there any chance of a 'quick-fix' to this before I splash out on a new one?
