Hi. I have a problem with adjusting date and time on my PowerShot A580. It's a completely new camera with new batteries, but it often asks to adjust data and time again (though I did it many times before it). When I adjust it, it stays in the memory for a few minutes (I can push the on/off button without needing to adjust date/time), but it asks adjusting again. I have no idea what the problem can be, because the machine doesn't always ask the adjusting. Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance!

- If the date battery has a code CR1220, then I see it. I tried to fix its position in the holder, and it seems it works! Thank you very much!
Did you put in the date battery in your new camera? It fits in a holder right next to the regular batteries. If so, you may need to put in a new date battery, as this is what 'powers' the clock in the camera.

-   Thanks for this answer, you saved my life. My camera was driving me nuts asking for date reset every few minutes!

According to Canon, the backup memory lithium battery (interal) recharges off the main AA batts that you put in... the manual says it takes about 4 hours to charge this battery. When not in use, leave the AA batts in the camera .. see if this helps keep the date/time memory! K
