Gas dryer wont heat

Look for air restrictions and clean that up if any. Then inspect the dryer for failed components: e37536f.jpge82d1d0.jpg05795e2.jpg718f5ff.jpg

Igniter does not come on.

most probably a faulty ignitor.  check the thermal fuse also.

Does not heat up

Yes, the electic ignitor may be blown.
Look into the small door in front of the dryer when it tries to start. The ignitor will glow bright orange as it heats up to ignite the propane.
If it doesn't glow, then replace the ignitor.
If it does glow, then check the thermocouple position. It may have moved from its mount. The end of the thermocouple (looks like a bare copper wire) must be almost toughing the ignitor in order to sense that the heat is high enough top allow the propane to start flowing. Re-position it.
If it still doesn't start, then the propane automatic valve is broken; the valve cannot be safely fixed and must be replaced.

I hope it's just the thermocouple out of position...

My dryer doesn't produce heat. the coil ignites

It's likely one of the coils is opening a break in the coil as the coil heats up. This coil will shrink when cool and be able to run again. In your machine, it appears Amana doesn't sell the coils as a separate item and the whole valve needs to be replaced. The part number is Y504091.

Disconnect power and turn off gas before working on this dryer. Working on gas dryers is not recommended for people who are not professionals.

Service on gas appliances should be undertaken by professionals only due to the danger of gas leakage which can cause fires or death by asphyxiation.

At front, remove 2 screws near floor at the bottom of the lower front panel. Pull bottom of panel toward you and down. The gas valve should now be accessible on the left. Take care not to touch or hit the ignitor or you will be replacing it also. It is VERY brittle.

Reverse process to re-assemble.

Ran out of propane, after we filled propane dryer will not heat?

Does it have a pilot light or electronic ignition. It sounds like the pilot may have gone out when you ran out of LP

Bosch dryer not heating

make sure you try it a couple of times. gas takes a long time to travel to the pipes. no way to purge the lines.

check if there is propane in the new tank, check if the valve is open, check if the propane is at the hose going to the dryer already.

tnx 4 using fixya,
