This error can be caused by a known FAULTY batch of photo conductor units. See my previous posts about this issue HERE:

http://www.fixya.com/support/t612937-service_reqd_e511

If your unit is of the faulty batch you can return for an FOC replacement.

Error: service reg E511 what does this mean?

Part of the photoconductor unit known as the transfer belt is not being detected when the E511 Service Requested error comes up. Epson in the UK has the troubleshooting outlined here:

I've a notice in epson aculaser 1100 lcd (service reg E511)

The E511 error for your Epson Aculaser  in most cases means that its motor has malfunctioned or something is preventing the motor from working properly.

Epson Aculaser C1100 Printer suddenly stopped printing

Hi,

To my knowledge Error Code E511 refers to photoconductor and/or its associated components. It is possible that:
  • the photoconductor requires a bit of cleaning and to be reseated snugly;
  • the black rubber conveyor (transfer) belt inside the photoconductor moved away from its path;
  • the silver square reflector on the transfer belt needs cleaning;
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
