SEcured web sites not opening

I could not open any secured web sites by explorer,but I am able to open the secured sites by computer(click on computer and type domain name in the address column).How it is happening

Login as a user with local Administrator rights, other than the affected user.
Start REGEDT32 (Windows NT/2000) or REGEDIT (Windows XP/2003).
Load the registry hive from the affected user's profile: C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\NTUSER.DAT by default.
Browse to the loaded hive and modify the permissions to Full Control for the affected user. The user may already have these permissions set, in which case it is necessary to force the permissions onto the tree again as detailed below.
To ensure the permissions have take effect, I recommend force-propagating the permissions down. Advanced -> check the "Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects." -> Click OK.

After you upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) in Microsoft Windows XP SP2, some SSL-secured (128-Bit) Web pages and Web sites may not work correctly. Frequently, this behavior is caused by security changes in Windows XP SP2. To determine why the pages do not display correctly, use the following methods in the order that they are presented.
Turn off the pop-up blocker
Internet Explorer SP2 includes the ability to block pop-up windows. This new feature may block some Web pages. To turn off the Pop-Up Blocker, follow these steps: 1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, and then click the General tab.
2. Click the Privacy tab.
3. In the Pop-Up Blocker section, click to clear the Block pop-ups check box.
4. Click Apply.
5. Click OK.
Delete the contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder
If a copy of the Web page is in the Temporary Internet Files folder, the page may not display as expected. To resolve this problem, you must delete the contents of this folder. To do this, follow these steps: 1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, and then click the General tab.
2. Click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.
3. Click Delete Files, and then click OK.

Use the System File Checker tool to scan all files that are protected by Windows File Protection
Use the System File Checker (Sfc.exe) tool together with the /scannow parameter to immediately scan and verify the versions of all the system files that Windows File Protection helps protect. If the Sfc.exe tool detects that such a file was overwritten, the Sfc.exe tool retrieves the correct version of the file from the Dllcache folder or from the Windows XP installation source files, and then replaces the incorrect file. Third-party browser extensions
Some third-party browser extensions and add-ons may interfere with how Internet Explorer views certain Web pages. To turn off these extensions, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, right-click Internet Explorer, and then click Internet Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Click to clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box.

3. Click the Advanced tab, and then under User Profiles, click Settings.
4. In the Profiles stored on this computer list, click the user profile that you want to delete, and then click Delete.
5. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the deletion.
6. Click OK two times.
7. Log off the computer as Administrator, and then log on as the user. Windows XP will then create a new profile for the user.

Registry errors


You may have encountered the following message while browsing certain websites:

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://<website>.com. Operation aborted."


This really has nothing to do with your browser or your computer. You get this error because of faulty web coding from the webmaster's end.

IE displays this error when it is unable to open a particular element on a web page.


There are many things you can do to troubleshoot this kind of problem.


Upgrade Internet Explorer.

This problem does not occur in Internet Explorer 8. Navigate to Microsoft download Center and click on the "Download" button to upgrade to IE8 or IE9 (see Below).

Click on "Tools" and select "Internet Options." Hit the "Advanced" tab.

Click to remove the check mark next to "Show friendly HTTP error messages" under "Browsing" sub-headings.

Add the specific website that is producing "Operation aborted" error under "Restricted Sites."


Click on the "Security" tab under "Internet Options."

Single-click to highlight "Restricted Sites."


Hit on the "Sites" button and click on "Add."

Type the URL of the website and hit "OK."


This works for Internet Explorer 7, but again, you can try this in earlier versions.


Disable or require prompt for "Active Scripting" when you view the specific website.

Click on the "Security" tab.


Click to highlight 'Restricted Sites" zone.

Navigate down to the sub-heading "Scripting."


Click to select "Disabled" under "Active Scripting."

You may also choose "Prompt" if you want IE to issue a prompt when opening the specific web page or website.

I can't connect to any log in sites or secured sites eg. I get a connection closed by remote server every time I put in username and then my pass word. Instead of going to the secured paige I get this...

Are you using Internet Explorer? You can go to Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - Reset. Do this to reset your IE. Restart your computer to make sure. Hope this help. Otherways, download firefox and use it to see where is problem. If firefox can use,that mean your internet, your modem router, your firewall setting is normal, just Internet Explorer has problem. Remove Internet Explorer and reinstall it. Thanks for reading

Certificate error on web site.


This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

Running script error


Method 1: Disable script debugging loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If the only sign of a problem is the error message, and Web sites are working, you can probably ignore the error. Also, if the problem only happens on one or two Web pages, it might be a problem with those pages. If you decide to ignore the errors, you can disable script debugging.

Note If this problem occurs on more than one or two sites, do not disable script debugging. Go to method 2 now.

To turn off the Scripting Debugger in Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Disable script debugging check box. and then click OK .
To turn off notification about every script error in Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK.
Method 2: Test a Web page from another user account, another browser, and another computer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Use another user account, another browser, or another computer to view the Web pages that triggered a script error to determine whether the problem persists. If the script error persists, there may be a problem with the way the Web page is written. You can probably ignore the error and disable script debugging as described in method 1.

If the script error does not occur when you view the Web page from another user account, browser, or computer, the problem may be caused by files or by settings on your computer. Go to method 3 to continue to troubleshoot. Method 3: Verify that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java are not being blocked by Internet Explorer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Active scripting, ActiveX, and Java are all involved in shaping the way information displays on a Web page. If these are blocked on your computer, it may disrupt the display of the Web page. Reset the Internet Explorer security settings to make sure these are not blocked. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
  4. Click Default Level.
  5. Click OK.
Note ActiveX controls and Java programs are turned off at the High security level in Internet Explorer.

Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to Method 4. Method 4: Remove all the temporary Internet-related files loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Every time that you open a browser to view a Web page, your computer stores a local copy of that Web page in a temporary file. If the size of the temporary Internet files folder becomes too large, some display problems may occur when you open Web pages. Periodically clearing the folder might help resolve the issue.

To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings.
  5. Click Delete Files, and then click OK.
  6. Click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.
  7. Under History, click Clear History, and then click Yes.
  8. Click OK.
To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Browsing History, click Delete, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  5. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Files, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.

  8. Click Close, and then click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to method 5. Method 5: Install the latest service pack and software updates for Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7 loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If you do not have the latest service pack or software upgrades for Internet Explorer 6 or 7, download and install them. They may contain updates that can help resolve the issue.

Normal Web pages can be viewed, but secure Web pages, like shopping pages or pages that deal with personal information, cannot be viewed. Use the following steps to reset SSL encryption so that secure pages can once again be viewed:
  1. Open Internet Explorer and click Tools , Internet Options , and then click the Security tab.
  2. Select Trusted Sites , and then click the Default Level button.
  3. Click the Advanced tab and scroll to the Security Options section.
  4. Select Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 if they are not already selected.
  5. Click the Content tab.
  6. Click the Clear SSL State button, and then click OK . You should now be able to view secure Web sites if you had to make any selection. Browse to a secure Web page to make sure. If you still cannot access the page, use the remaining steps to resolve the problem.
  7. If you are using IE 7, temporarily disable the built-in phishing filter, using the following steps:
    1. Open IE 7.
    2. Click Tools , select Phishing Filter , and then select Turn Off Automatic Website Checking .
    3. Go to the Website and try again. CAUTION: With the phishing filter off you must know and trust the website that you are trying to view. Do not enter any personal information into a Web form unless you can verify the site is reputable.
    4. After you have visited the site, re-enable the phishing filter.
  8. In Windows XP, use the following steps to register the device libraries associated with Internet security:
    1. Click Start , Run .
    2. Enter cmd into the open field.
    3. Enter each of the following items in the command window, clicking OK after each name has been entered:
      • regsvr32 softpub.dll
      • regsvr32 wintrust.dll
      • regsvr32 initpki.dll
      • regsvr32 dssenh.dll
      • regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
      • regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
      • regsvr32 sccbase.dll
      • regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
      • regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
    4. Type Exit and then press the Enter key.
    5. Click OK , and then restart the computer.

please check wheather your system date and time are correct and they are showing current date and time ,,try this
