It is simple enough to measure it yourself. Belts are usually measured as two numbers. Total External length, and Belt width. Using a permanent marker, mark a point on the OUTSIDE, backside of the belt. Often the rough canvas like back surface. Using a piece of string hold one end on your marked point and run the string all the way around the outside edge of the belt until you get back to your original mark then measure the string with a tape measure.
The belt width is exactly that. Measure Across the back surface, the same one you used for the length. Take both of these measurements to a good belt supplier and they should be able to supply you with a replacement using those numbers.

If the belt is in one piece, put a chalk mark on the back of the belt and measure the length by running a tape measure from one side of the mark all the way around the belt until the mark appears. Take that measurement, subtract an inch for stretch and that number is the number of the belt you need. If it's broken in two, not three, then simply measure the length of the belt.

If you still have the old belt, even if it is broken. Taje it to your local lawn and garden center that sells parts and service on riding mowers. Have them measure the belt length and width. If the belt is missing, have them look up belt for the model number of the mower you have.

I would make a drawing of the way the belt is routed on the mower and then take the belt off the mower and either measure the length of the belt or take it to a lawn shop and purchase a new belt or if you know the width and length of the belt you can order one from V Belt supply on line I have found them to have good pricing.

If you don't have the broken belt, and you don't want to buy 2 or 3 wrong belts. Go to a lawn and garden supply company or sears and buy it by model number of the mower. Then when you have the new one, find the numbers on the belt, and write them down. http://www.searspartsdirect.com or

The belt can be measured by your local hardware/lawn care dealer or by reading the numbers on the belt itself. You will find that purchase price is likely to drop significantly by buying an aftermarket belt too!

Understand your idea, however, after 35 years of repairing mowers, most manufacturers have designed drive sheave pulleys to certain specs, and generic fractional horsepower belts do NOT work. The material, cord design, and cross-section measurements are specific to that particualr application. Fractional horsepower belts are normally just rubber, and the heat created by driving a mower will melt the rubber quickly.
Go to the local Cub dealer and get the proper belt. It will save you tons of time and money. If you do not have a local dealer, cub has a website that would provide a dealer locator for your area.
