You will need to make sure the resolution pn the PS3 is set the tv picks up whatever signal is sent toit no adjustment has to be made through the set.

Mitsubishi rear projection tv, model WS-48311 - Lost audio after moving tv and re-hooking up cables. How do I get it back?

It sounds like this TV is being used only for the PS3. We'll need to troubleshoot this through a process of elimination.

If you're using Component Input 1 and audio, try using Component Input 2 and audio instead. If this set of inputs provides working audio and video - you can stop. Or, try going back to Input 1 once more. If Input 1 now works - you may have simply made a better connection. If it doesn't - then there's probably an issue with input 1 on the TV.

If moving to Input 2 above still didn't solve the problem, you should try using a different set of audio cables between the HDFury and the TV. If it now works, the original audio cables are faulty.

You can check the HDfury setup on another HDTV with component inputs with it connected to an HDMI cable. if the HDFury wors, you know the device and all the cables work. If you do this test and it works with your PS3, then you know that the PS3 is providing good video and audio signals via HDMI. If the problem follows the PS3 - then it's the PS3 at fault. If everything works perfectly on the second TV, then there is some issue with the audio amplifier / inputs / speakers of the Mitsu TV. You could get a cheapo stereo amp and speakers - or a set of computer speakers for audio - it all depends on how much you want to spend for sound.

Good lcuk!

Can't get the play station to work with the tv. The av is plugged in correctly and the ps is turned on. Don't know which channel to go to, and when EXT we tried all different inputs and it still doesn't...

Which generation playstation are you referring to The PS2 or PS3. The PS2 would be connected with a composite cable by default i.e red white and yellow cable. Connect the cable to the corresponding input on the TV, match color codes. Switch to correct input by using your remote controller. Press the AV button and a list of inputs come's up.Select av1 or av2 and check if you get a picture. If you use a ps3 then same as before press AV button on remote and select appropriate option on screen HDMI,Component or Composite.

Powersurge made my HD setting revert to low def.

Your TV plays High Def material through either Input 4 (uses component cables R,G,B) or through Input 5 (Uses DVI cable).
Today most equipment uses HDMI cable for High Def or it may have a component (RGB) output that you can use. The DVI hookup is best, so you need a HDMI to DVI cable or Component Cables (Red, Green, Blue). You need some source that OUTPUTS High def (ex. 1080i) either through HDMI or component cable. You need to either connect the component cable(R,G,B) from the source to the Input 4 on the TV or connect the HDMI to DVI cable from the source to the Input 5.
You need to set the AV source on the TV to AV5 (if you are using the DVI input) or AV4 (if you are using component cables).
If you want to play Highdef source like Blue Ray then you can just connect the output of the blu ray player to your Tv using either the HDMI to DVI cable or component cable (Red, Green, Blue) and set the TV input to AV5 (for HDMI/DVI) or AV4 (for component).
But if you are trying to get Free High Def from an antenna then you will need to have a component that can OUTPUT high def. The $40 converter boxes don't do this - they simply convert the Digital signal to Analog (non high def). What you need is a High Def TUNER that OUTPUTS High Def. I was looking for one for this same reason and ordered the centronics ZAT 502 HD. But it cost about $80. Then I saw that Tivo had an upgrade deal where I could upgrade my existing Series 2 Tivo to Tivo HD for $99. It has a High Def Tuner in it. So I cancelled my order with Centronics and got the Tivo. In any case if you want Over the air HD you will need a High Def Tuner that will OUTPUT 1080.

I want to connect my ps3 via hdmi cable to my magnavox 51mp392h/17 hdtv but theres no hdmi jack on my tv what to i do?

If there is NO HDMI on the TV, There are 2 options to still get HD. 1. Check if your TV has a DVI input, If it does you need a DVI to HDMI converter. This can be a problem with some TV models it might not sync up 100%. 2. I recommend doing this, Purchase the Component Cable For the PS3 from Best Buy or any Game store. Make sure it is the ONE for the PS3!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This cable will give you up to 1080i resolution and stereo Audio. Plug in the Red, Green and Blue into the Component (R,G,B) Input in the TV, The Red and White (audio) will follow into the same Input (White and Red) just match the colors from the cable to the TV. On the PS3 in the Menu go to the 2nd row from the Left and down to DISPLAY SETTINGS. Select Component (under HDMI) check off everything except 1080p and then SAVE by pressing X. If you have a Receiver (AMP) that your Audio goes into, Then you can buy an Optical Cable for Surround Sound. Plug in the Optical cable then on the PS3 go into the menu, 2nd row, Sound Settings, Choose Optical, Then choose Auto and SAVE! Hope this will Help!

Hooking up from hd receiver to hdtv ready projection tv. what cables do I use? vga or rca component red, blue, green and sync white/black? My hd receiver has output of :hdmi, rca component, s-video ,...

This particular television puts you in a tough bind - you can use Component cables in AV-1, but you won't be able to get HD. Or you can use the Component cables in the right-most component slot (AV-4), but since your HD Receiver probably doesn't have V/H Sync connectors, you may get a rolling picture. Try the component cables in the right-most slot - if the picture doesn't roll, you're in business.

Once again, I doubt that your model # is a 60pp9202, since that model doesn't have a VGA or DVI slot. If the picture rolls after trying the above, you will need to purchase a HDMI-to-DVI-D cable and hook it up from the HDMI output of your HD receiver to the DVI slot (that looks like a VGA slot) on the back of your Philips or Magnavox.

That is a convergence problem, it may be because of a faulty defective IC.

Format not selectable in AV-4

The AV-4 port on this TV is more problematic than anything I've seen. Set the resolution of the computer to 1024 x 768, 60 Hz refresh rate. If still nothing, set to 800 x 600, 60 hz refresh rate. Make sure the driver for the cable you have running from computer to TV is up to date. There's not much you can do on the TV end - all the changes have to be made from the PC.

Cant get the dvd to tune into my tv

To get the DVD to play on the tv it will depend where you have it connected to. If it is connected to coaxial put the tv to channel 3 or 4.If it is connected with RCA cable put the set to the AV input the DVD is connected to with the remote or by the tv manually.
