First, plug a external monitor and toggle the screen to discard configuration or software problems. If the image displays correctly you have a problem either in the LCD screen, the inverter or its connection cable.
Open the bezel and check for loose or damaged connection cable. Look specially next to the hinge.
Try also replacing the inverter.
In case the problem is not the cable or the inverter you might have to get a new LCD. You can have replacement parts and instructions here:
