Attempting repairs can be dangerous.
In many instances work should only be undertaken by a qualified professional.

This problem seems that the agitator motor or the gear has gone bad so it would be recommended to consult a tecnician

Result from a simple broken pin, which causes the tub to spin whenever the motor runs, even while agitating. Call to find out how to fix this common problem – it’s very inexpensive.

    Warning! To
avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance
from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at
the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or
repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have
sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance. It blows fuses or trips the circuit breaker: Some
appliances use 220 volts or two power lines of 110 volts each. Do not
touch any power sources – 220V is DEADLY – in seconds!

    this diagram may help u

  • dewan nafees ahmed Jun 23, 2008

If you can pull the agitator off, there should be a plastic hub, with a
screw in the center of it. That is what needs to be replaced.

also u may also have to replace the coupler if problem persists.

    thank you

dont forget to accept MY solution if u go by it.

feel free for asking any doubts u have.

    thank u for ur cooperation.

good luck for getting fixed soon

since they are very small details they are omitted in the digram i think.

look at the note in side of the diagram

    many details omitted for clarity

Make sure the agitator is down as far as it can go on the shaft. If it has worked itself partially off the shaft it can cause a gap that will cause your clothes to tangle around the agitator.

Yes its a top loader and cloths are distributed evenly at the moment. My problem is it will not agitate. Its like the brake is locked on. It spins fine but niether the drum or agitator move. the motor is trying but its cant over come the brake (i think). I have had the brake arm off but I am unsure if it needs alinging with the brake tang when putting it back together ?

I have a SIMPSON ENCORE 555 heavy duty washing machine. It will do a normal wash cycle, but when it comes to the spin cycle, it doesn't distribute the washing around the drum and hence won't spin. any...

Hi just read your posting. Now does the washing tangle around the agitator? In your posting you mentioned the washing not distributing around the drum.Could you confirm that your machine is a top loader for me,because the word "drum and distribute" are terms for a front loader. If your machine is a top loader which I think it is then the problem could be your brake arm or spin coil is not operating. Please reply and let me know if the clothes are tangling around the agitator.Looking forward to your reply.

Clothes get caught under the agitator and tangled around the agitator and have to unravel the clothes from the agitator

Check the rubber gasket around the agitator is not worn. If it is get a replacement and insert it in snugy.

Agitation issue

So you say the agetator is moveing or when the clothes go up and down does it stay in place and make a rattcheting sound. if it is not moving the clothes up and down you need new agetator dogs. pop the cap off the top of the agetator some have a plastic cap that you can poull off to get to the 1/2 inch screw inside. some don't if you can see the bolt around the edges of the inside of the agetator you will see groove marks and when you turn the agetator by have you will see 4 plastic tear drop looking thing that grab the grooves of the agetator these tear drop things get stripped over time. replace them and this should solve your problem. let me know if you have any more questions

ON SPIN CYCLE AGITATOR MAKE A LOUD BANGING SOUND

So while you are holding the agetator is it ripping your hands? or is the agetator just sitting there? If the agetator is just sitting there you probably have bad agetator dogs. I would remove the fabric softner or cap whichever you have. under the cap you will see grooves in the agetator down low. When you manually turn the agetator you should see 4 tear drops that grab the grooves if you do not see this you have bad dogs. Very simple. This usually is the cause for the grinding noise that you are hearing. Please let me know if this works for you //eg
