Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

My 2 year old daughter spilled Orango Soda on my ipod. I never turned it on, and let it dry for 24 hours, and now it wont turn on at all. I am very dissapointed as I spent over 200 dollars for this, and I don't know what to do.

I have heard many heroic tales of people drying out their iPods, mp3 players - unfortunately, none have been successful so far. This is 1 of 3 things you can do to permanently ruin the mp3 player. I would remove any exterior evidence of the orange soda by wiping it off - call Apple and tell them that it just "stopped working" - don't mention the orange soda.

Ipod touchgot wet, now it freezes at apple logo

Try placing your Ipod in a large bowl of uncooked dry rice for 24-48 hrs. Then plug it in to see if this will allow you to use it again.

My ipod wont turn on help me it worked for a min then it turned off

  1. Try plugging your iPod into your computer or into a wall charger. After a few hours, try using it without it being connected to the charger.
  2. If your device is less than a year old, go to the Apple Store and they may be able to replace it for free on the spot as part of the warranty.
  3. If your device is older, you can go to the Apple Store and have them repair it for free
  4. You can go to the Apple Store with your iPod, and buy a new one for 10% off.

Whenever i plug my ipod into wither my wall charger or my laptop,it turns on and works fune. it says it is fully charged. then when i un-plug it it wont turn on

Your battery if fu.k.d up.  Take the thing back to Apple store for free replacement if your within one year and you didn't spill any water on it. You don't even need your receipt cause they just type your serial # in to see if it is within the 1 year warranty.

Hi Tasha,

try waiting for 24 hours before trying to turn it on again. Then try connecting it to the computer again.

If that doesn't work, i would suggest bringing it into the apple store. It should be still under warranty if it was purchased within the last year, which i think it would be being a 2nd gen ipod touch.

However i don't think they will cover damage by refridgerator.

It's up to you how much information you give the support staff at apple. I know they have a liquid sensor in the ipod's, so they will be able to tell if liquid got into it. However i'm not sure what effect a cold temperature will have on the ipod touch.

Here are the environmental requirements of an ipod touch.

  • Operating temperature: 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)
  • Nonoperating temperature: -4° to 113° F
    (-20° to 45° C)
  • Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
  • Maximum operating altitude: 10,000 feet (3000 m)
Again i suggest waiting 24 hours before trying anything,

Good luck,

My iPod has moisture inside. It turns on but

Not sure if this will help, however when a cell phone gets moisture in it, you stick it in rice and the rice will draw the moisture out. Leave it in the rice for 24 hours and see if this helps. It's worth a shot. Good luck!

Husband got Christmas ipod Classic wet

Hi what seemed to happen here is your HDD drive got wet and crashed. Yes take it back. Next time this happens the second it gets wet put it in a bowl of white rice. The rice absorbs the liquid and all better. But this time you can't do it. But yes take it back.
