Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I was playing a game and the game froze. and when i tried to turn my playstation back on, it wouldn't. how can i fix it?
Ok i've got a more helpful solution. you may not like it, but here goes...
the same thing happended to me when i took out the hard disk and replaced it. only when i went to retrieve files from the old disk, it wouldn't start up. only a black screen and the green light was on. it even shut off my controllers.
you'll have to buy a new hard disk. my new hard disk works just fine, but my old one still acts up.
hope i helped,

Ok press the power button until you hear it beep it will reset itself and av should be back on track... try 1-10 times
NOTE: the system must be in standby mode or the red light must be the only thing on!

this has happen to me!! and i end up buying another ps3 and it end up the same!!! i fix both of them!!! and about over 200 consols with the same problem!!! this is what u do! you connect your control direct to your ps3. and then you hold the power button for 5 seconds!! the system will turn on!!!remove your finger for a second and hold the power button till you hear 2beeps then remove your finger and the system will shut off!! this is a manuel reset!!! the system will turn back on!! asking u to connect your controller!! you already have it connected. then it will give you about 6 options!! you will choose RESTORE FILES!!! your system will check for your system defaults!! then it will tell you that you have corrupted files!! and proceed with it!!! it will fix if you have problems with your controls,if it doesnt play games, blue ray,if it freeze, system shutting off, icon problems, only playing sertting games or movies!!! if you have problems or any question feel free to ask!! i know is fustrating!!!

ok right so your ps3 wont read disks huh well first of all id like to say this has happened to me twice and it has worked perfectly for me and i quarentee it will work for you ...
first save all your data to a memory stick
secondly go to settings, system settings, and format your ps3 by clicking on full format this will delete all your filles :( but will refresh your ps3
BTW this formatting thing will take atleast 4 hours so just leave your ps3 on and chill out watch t.v or something :)
hope this helps
