From what you are describing it sounds like the door latch assembly needs to be replaced. This is not a simple DIY job though. I would recommend seeking guidance from a professional technician to properly replace the door latch to avoid any future issues. Some of these intricate parts require precision and patience, therefore when replacing such components or removing them from your appliance, I would suggest seeking professional assistance. I hope this has been beneficial. -Matt
Drivers side door will not close because, it might have dropped out of alignment and is sagging down slightly!!! or if it has electric door locks, and someone in the family has failed to mention door locks were activated while that one door was still open!!! now lock mechanism has passed it's normal stopping place and is now stuck, therefore already locked and not allowing door to close all the way!! you might try disconnecting battery then try jiggling the lock, and hope silenoid didn't get burned out, open passenger door and look at lock latch, then check drivers side lock latch!!! if your lucky lock latch should unlock when battery is hooked back up. i have seen this problems happen often on older vehicles!!! especially on cars or trucks that have been in fender benders.........body shops know what to check for, they fix problems like this often!!!!! Good luck!!
inside the mechanical lock (The part that actualy holds the door shut when you close it) there is a switch that informs the control unit that the lock is either locked or unlocked. These switches fail sometimes, when this happens the control unit is not aware that you have opened the door, and therefor will not wind the window down slightly.
The switch is integral with the lock unit, and they are not easy things to replace either.
if you are not getting water into the machine you will likely need to replace the water inlet valve. if the soap/rinse dispenser door is not closing properly, make sure it is clean from built up soap etc. if it still doesn't close you will likely have to replace it as well.
There is no lock open postion, therefore no release button is provided.
Take the toner out that you just put in, then try to close door gently.
If the door closes ok the problem is with the toner. Check you have removed shipping pull tabs (Usually Orange) on new toner. Next, on one end of the drum shutter there should be a small point which the machine uses to open the shutter when you close the door. If the shutter won't open or the point is missing (Broken off) the printer door witll not close.
Initially, pls open the lower access panel (bottom of your washer) by
removing the 3 torx screws. There would be a sheet that lists the error
codes. The panel pulls forward and down, inside mounted on the right
side taped to that inner panel would be the above described sheet.
Additionally, to my knowledge, this indicates a door latch fault, the
machine cannot activate the lock or senses that the door is not closed
or the door is not locked.
In some instances, the error code
F/DL could be triggered be a loose component. This could be that the
plastic fitting on the door is loose and therefore will not latch on
the locking assembly or the locking assembly itself is loose. You could
then try opening and closing the door a couple of times.
Should this be not corrective, then the logic controller board may require close checking.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
