I have a problem with my GE Profile French Door refrig PFS22SISBSS. First, the latch that pulls the gasket in when the right door is closing broke off. It doesn't seem to be a critical part and appears to be there only to make sure that the door doesn't pop open when the other door is closed. The other problem is the freezer won't stay at zero degrees even though that's where the thermostat is set. It climbs up and down into the teens, but rarely makes it down to zero. The compressor also seems to run constantly. It's been doing this for several months.

Likely the compressor... we have the same fridge and had the same thing happen. It was sporadic...would work, then not. Finally had GE out to repair - not cheap. Part and labor was almost $300.00 and took 2 attempts to repair.

There is a good chance that your refrigerator has frozen up from the door being left open.

The best and easiest thing to do is to unplug the refrigerator and prop the doors open for 24 hours to melt any ice build-up that may have occurred and then restart the refrigerator.

If the refrigerator still fails to pull down to proper temp, then you will need to dig deeper to find the problem.

Vegetable and meat draws freezing everything temp@16 deg. f.

Turn your thermostat down. If all the rest of the food was even 45 degrees, it would be okay. The vetable and meat drawers will always be colder, so you set the level for the rest of the fridge at what is tolerable.

Does not stop cooling down

Door edges being warm is caused by what is called mullion heaters that operate to prevent humidity from condensing at these points.
Some refrigerators have an energy saver switch. Turn this switch if you have one to the energy saving position when the humidity is low. Is anything freezing in the refrigerator? If so setting the controls to a little higher setting may solve your problem.
