Question about Sony RDR-VX525 DVD Recorder/VCR
The remote is stuck! Any Button that I press shows DVD 1. I have done everything that it says to do in the manual with NO results. I know that I have to get the remote to align with DVD 3. I am stumped on this one.
I had this same problem: Recorder displaying "DVD 1" whenever I pressed any button on the remote. Called Sony Tech Support and this is what they told me to do: 1) Turn the unit on; 2) Press the Enter and the 1 keys on the remote at the same time for 5 seconds. (This I was told was to set the remote to DVD 1); 3) Press the System Menu key on the remote to bring up this menu up on the TV screen. (This takes a few seconds, so be patient.); 4) Access the Setup Page on the menu and set your unit via this way to DVD 3 if you want. (The Tech actually said I could leave it at DVD 1 if I wanted. I set mine back to DVD 3 - default.) I then performed auto-Set-up on my unit, and everything was back to normal. Hope this helps, otherwise I would recommend calling Sony Tech Support.

I had this same problem (DVD1). Resolved as follows: With DVD player on, pointed remote at DVD player, pressed and held the 1 key and then pressed and held the enter key (both at same time) until I saw the DVD1 on the DVD player display disappear. Now everything works.

Solution to the problem is as follow:
1. press down the "ENTER" buttom and then press the "1" number buttom for about 5 seconds
2. press down the "ENTER" buttom and the "3" number for aboput 5 seconds.
This should reset the recorder to the DVD3 mode
