Blue Screen w/Flashing light in the middle echoing out to edge
I've replaced the lamp after 2 years, 1 year into this bulb. Also, had mother board go out about 2 years ago, had repaired at $700. Most recent problem started out w/satellite picture starting to pixelate out, then to blue screen only. Antennae input still worked and DVD, the next day, both of those went to blue screen only w/light in middle, etc....
Is it possible this is a simple problem? If not, is there a market to sell the tv for parts?

Re: Blue Screen w/Flashing light in the middle echoing...
Good Day, you all;
This TV has many problems......at least three boards and many parts on each PCB..... most places charge between $750.00 to $1,200.00 to repair. So, I will let you be the judge if it is worth it. Get an estimate from an authorized service center be fore making final decision.
If you can repair yourself I will be glad to give you the info.....it takes an experience tech about 3 hours to repair.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I'd recommend checking the fans of the projector, and make sure that they're spinning. Since you've mentioned that the lamp blew inside the unit, bits and pieces of the lamp might have lodged itself within the fans. It might also have to do w/ the after-market replacement bulb, which I normally wouldn't recommend.
Recheck the tv projection lamp installation?Recheck the lamp door latch,see if it is proper closed and tightly closed of the lamp door?Hear any clicking noises,when the tv projection lamp tries to ignite up.If hearing constance clicking?Mean the tv board that call the Ballast board it is also dead,this Ballast board only job are to ignite the tv projection lamp only.Ballast board must have be replaced.If the tv have a colors wheel is it dead or damage and broken require changing,u will hear major humming,motor or grinding sound noises and alot of times the tv pictures flashes multiples colors on the tv screen or the tv pictures will have a black&white flashes of a background of white light within the tv pictures background.Selling defective tvs almost impossible to sell it for a decent or a good priced or it at all.If this tv u have less than 5 years old,tv it is still have alot of it life ahead of it,tv tube picture screen panel,will last u atleast another 10 years and have to be 8 hours tv whatching every day to dies this faster or could be last to 15 years,if tv less hours of watching every day.Should get priced quotes from many tvs repair shops and get it fixed max prices about $400-$500 dollars.New tv same model and sized or difference models too will cost u like $1,200-$1,500 dollars.
Check the Lamp Fan if it is defective Lamp will try to light but will shut off, And the Ballast board is what turns Lamp on, For Part number o to Encompass parts distrubtion and type in your model they should list the ballast board and PN Then go to Ebay Look under Electronics type in PN, I got mine for $65.00
Lamp for $85.00
Yes,it will resolved ur tv picture issues.This tv the projection lamp has not been replaced at least 1 1/2 or 2 years right?The tv on an in used at 4 or 5 hours a day right? The projection lamp life span are over.Sometimes the Ballast board have to be replaced too.This Ballat board it to help to ignite the projection lamp.
Place heat shielding around the lamp to prevent overheat; use cooling spray (freon) to cool any chips or, circuit boards near the lamp as you attempt to start the set check the lamp for the correct serial # voltage etc.
NO not simple problem. This dlp has so many problems that you have not experienced yet but you will. To repair this concern will be into the same $7-800.00 range again.
Not much of a market to sell this but can try local service shops/ or internet type places.
But let's not get too much in front of ourselves. I would call the manufacture and complain and try to get them to repair unit, tell them (they know) you know that TV is having a lot of problems and service bulletins written on this model. Here's their info:
