Epson Stylus CX5500 error message even after resetting

Hi. The printer we have now has been converted to CISS and it was working fine until recently when the two red lights started blinking. Our ink supplier emailed us the resetting instructions and it didn't work the first time we tried it. Their technician went here and they were able to reset it on another computer. However, we noticed that the error message that appears each time we print keeps appearing. After a day or two, we couldn't use the printer again. Another expert said that there may be a problem with the hardware itself (e.g. inkpad) but did not give any instructions on how to solve this. I have notified our ink supplier again about this but I am not sure how long it will take them to get here. Our shop is in Cavite. If there is a step-by-step guide that you can give us that we can do ourselves that would be ideal. Thanks!

When we got the printer the printer was fine yet the printer went crazy the two red lights were flashing and the printer did not let us change the ink. Is the ink the problem or the printer its self. The scanner works but it just won't print. We are finding lots of problems as we read another person had the same problem. We tried to print but on the computer screen it said the printer had an error. How can i fix this problem.

I've use the SSC software with my CX5500 several time and try all model on it. but it's not worked. The fact there is no CX5500 model in the list.

My CX5500 still quiet. No error message specifically. there only X sign on all Ink indocators, and Low Ink status reported by printer on the screen, while all ink indicators show FULL filled. additional information show that wasted ink status is 0 and the date mark of the cartridge is 07/2013. am I have to throw it out to the street?. Is there another solutions?.

I had a similar problem with my CX5500, there seemed to be something blocking the carriage movement. I looked inside to find a child's sock, so to fix this error REMOVE SOCK FROM PRINTER (or any other obsturction like crunched paper perhaps)

Try downloading this resetter, just follow the link. SSC Service utility won't work CX5500 is not supported by SSC even with the latest version 4.3

http://www.4shared.com/file/58582916/1fe87f74/Resetter_CX5500.html.

If you did not put out the tube for the ink flow before using the CISS then most probably your ink pad is full. The best solution I can offer for this is you should put out the ink flow tube and just let the ink pad dry up after resetting.

For help in putting out the tuber for ink flow please email me at ngl.mrls@gmail.com. I can send you photos.

ink flow of the printer just follow the link : http://www.mediafire.com/file/0unnmynjmm... CX5500 tube.pdf

it is in PDF format, if you need a PDF reader download it at http://get.adobe.com/reader/. Hopes this simplifies everything.

"error: part inside your printer (blah blah blah)" well if you have a printer cx5500 by epson and you are using cis. you might need a resetter program or software available download via internet... if you all ready have one then ok.... follow the instructions.... if it work then ok again.. if you reset your printer multiple time and not actually changing or cleaning your waste ink pad then you have a problem... because if you are reseting no matter how many times if did not replace or cleaned your waste ink pad it will always ask for a reset, just always remember if you reset your printer clean your waste ink pad... how to get the waste ink pad.... you have to dismantle your cx5500 which is pretty tough and if you can't do it don't try to dismantle it.... approach a professional.... or a repairman.... use the internet to find one....

Hi,

The most help I can offer is a link to a utility program designed to reset most (if not all) parameters of a variety of Epson printer models. You need to determine if said utility program will work with your particular model. This utility is SSC Service Utility for Epson Stylus Printers and may be downloaded from here. Additional information may be viewed here.

Even if your specifi model is not mentioned, often the the utility program works so perhaps you can still download and give it a try.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Guys I have used that SSC Service utility and it worked good for me first thing i did was clean the ink waste pad inside my CS5500 (too messy if you cannot dis assemble dont try!) and after cleaning the wasted i have to let it dry before i assemble it again.... when its all done the assembling takes place another hard thing to do (i Hate disassemble & assemble)... then i used SSC Service utility and walla Ink waste pad was reseted...the last problem i encountered is that my nozzel got clogged!....

For help in putting out the tuber for ink flow just remove the cover in the back of your printer and pull out the hose just put a container...... (this works for me!) ^_~

if you have questions just e-mail it to at rowina_santos@yahoo.com
and i can give you a copy of my said SSC utility..

Try this program it work with my cx5500.the instructions are included in the program....
don't forget to clean the waste ink pad firs before resetting.....
How?
There's an opening at the back of the printer....you will see a tube there......remove the tube and place it in a small container so the ink can flow there....and then you can run the program....

Ssc utility

this may help you
Here is how to reset the waste counter for the Epson R200, R210, R300 and R310 printers.
  • Press and hold “Stop”, “Maintenance”, and “Power” buttons for about 10 seconds. A message will come on the screen saying counter is reset and to turn the printer off. The R200 and others don’t have a screen so just wait until the 10 seconds is up.
  • Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord. Wait about 1 minute and power the printer back up. The counter will be reset. That’s all there is to the reset procedure.

Epson Stylus CX5500 resetting; notification of need for servicing keeps popping up

Hi-

Yep chances are there is a problem with the hardware itself. On the computer where you have it connected directly, did you get an error message? if you did then it talks about part at the end of service life then that is the inkpad you are having a problem with, but if there is no error message that popped up on the computer then there might be a problem on the mainboard, call epson so that they can give you a discount if you are going to buy one from them again. you can reach them at 562-276-4382. Thanks for using Fixya!
