I have a sony ericcson w910i, and just transferred my old mobile No. to a new sim and different company. how do i get rid of the 'insert correct sim' msg on my mobile? I've inserted the new sim card into a different phone with out any problems.

Issue is not with your phone.. Your wife's phone or network might have a problem.. Wat about the msgs sent to others from your wife's phone.. Check the message centre number in your wife's phone.. If it's correct(Find it from the network provider) remove it and restart the phone. Or try entering the same message centre number. (No proofs, but stillthis cliche works... Try restarting the phone, remove the sim and insert it properly again.. Use a different sim in your wife's phone, send a few msgs, check it works.. then try sending msgs from your wife's sim from her phone).. Reply back if it works...

Depends where it was flashed. Take it back to the shop or if you did it yourself repeat the procedure but first take out the SIM and battery and then replace after a few minutes just in case. Also try another SIM by the same operator if the phone is locked if not any operator.
If no success, You can use Wotan website to reflash. You need to buy credits and data cable that came with the phone

hello, hearing your story I can only say that your was not unlocked or can't be unlocked depends if for example was it an offer?
Or they did not have the unlocking program for the phone

as both the software packages are different, it doesl not support transfering files from one format to other.
Nokia PC suit supports only Nokia phones and vice versa.
hope this know how will satisfy you eagerness to transfer data from nokia to sony.

Your phone is asking for a code because it is locked to only work with one phone company. If your new sim is from a different company, you can request the unlock code from your old company, they may or may not give it to you (tmobile usually does, ATT/Cingular usually doesn't). The other option is to use a unlocking service, you can find plenty on ebay. If you didn't change phone companies, your new sim card is most likely bad, have your phone company send you another one.
