Not certain I understand your question. If you radios have a call-alert feature, it will buzz or ring the other radios when you press the PTT on your radio. If the radios do not have call alert, you will have to transmit a spoken word to get the others attention.

HOw to VOX

If you are following the instructions and still it seems not to work, perhaps you are not talking loudly enough above the threshold trigger level and you need to speak up or speak closer to the mike.. If that doesn't work. Have the sets looked at.

Uniden turn off vox

Hi Jon,
The problem is easy to solve, so here goes:
vox indicates that your unit is set to work via the microphone(if you have one), and is activated when you start to speak, (hence vox=voice activated microphone), if you don't have the microphone that came with the unit, you will need to buy/borrow one and connect it to the unit, before you can turn off vox, so that the unit can work with or without the microphone(vox will no longer show), once you have done this.
I hope this helps.

T5700 and T9500 con speak between them?

Directions for programming the T5700 can be found starting on page 18 here

Directions for programming the T9500 can be found on page 1 under the heading MENU OPTIONS here

These two radios have many similar features, but some which differ. For best results leave all the special features such as Qt filter, call alert, and interference eliminator codes, turned off or set to zero until you get the radios to function in a basic mode on just the same channel as one another. Then once you've found what works, you can experiment adding special features, if desired.

Best regards.

Change language setting motorola mv22

Hold in the PTT button while turning on the radio. First it will announce the frequency, then press the monitor button once, then it will announce the code, press the monitor button one time again, then if it is equipped with a language choice, you will get to select your language by using the PTT button to walk through the choices, lock in your choice by pressing the monitor button one time. Shut the radio off, then back on without holding in any buttons... you are ready to use the radio.

Best regards.

I can't get them to connect to each other

If the unit you are using is an FRS/GMRS radio then this might fix your issue.
  1. Make sure both radios are on the same channel, ie Channel 2.
  2. Now look at the screen on both radios...below the "2" is a smaller digit... this is a sub-channel.
  3. Are the sub-channels for both radios the same? If not they need to be matching. The easiest way is to set them to "0". (You can read more about the sub-channels in your Motoral owners manual if you have one.).
Here is how to change the sub-channel.
  1. Press the MENU button once and release it. You will notice that the main channel is now blinking.
  2. Now press the MENU button a 2nd time within 4 seconds to make the smaller sub-channel number begin blinking.
  3. Now use the "+" sign on he right (or up arrow), OR the "-" sign on the left (or down arrow) to adjust the sub-channel to the number of your choosing.
  4. Let's say you wan to set the sub-channel to "0". Using the above instruction in #3, do this and then immediately press the PTT (Push To Talk) button once to lock in your selection.
Both radios are now programmed to speak with each other on the same frequencies.
Your question did not have much detail, so I am assuming this is the issue. I hope this helps!

Problem with the talking.

Not sure what model/make you've got but what you describe is called the VOX feature. This normally needs to be turned on or will activate automatically if a headset/mic is plugged in. How it works is that the mic will pick up initial noise of you speaking and make the connection. Normally it can be set to turn off after a period of silence.. But as I said, without knowing the make or model I don't know if your radio has this feature or if it's a fault.

How do I set my sx700 radio to work with hands-free headsets? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hands-Free Use With Accessories (VOX)
You can transmit hands-free with the use of optional accessories. Once
VOX is turned on, the radio detects your voice and transmits when you
1. Turn the radio off and plug the VOX accessory into the accessory
2. Turn the radio on. VOX shows on the display.
3. Adjust the volume appropriately by rotating the volume knob . Lower the volume
before placing the accessory on your head or in your ear.
4. To turn off, simply remove accessory.
Note: There is a short delay between the time you start talking and
when the radio transmits. There is a short delay before the
transmission is completed.

Owners Manual:

You must be using a VOX capable accessory. Generally this is an accessory without an in-line PTT.
