If you dont have the manual, download it from internet. It should tell you what the blinking light is indicating. My friends tv was blinking 3 lights around power button and the manual I downloaded correctly stated it was the lamp that needed to be replaced. I also found some other interesting info via the internet. There is a way to get into the Service Mode of a Samsung TV. Try doing a Google search for Service Mode for your model... Good Luck. PS the lamp itself was pretty expensive but installing it was not hard to do.

My pioneer 5020FD Kuro tv. when I plug power to the unit, a blue light blinks 8 times pause 2 sec. and blink 8 times repeating this and if i press power button it clicks red light and makes a clicking sound and goes back to the blue light blinking again, it did this once before and the picture came on fine until i turned it off and now it just blink the blue code.
These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. I have the same problem. No video just audio. No on screen display visible either (volume, channel labels) nothing.
Samsung tried to repair this under warranty TWICE within 2 months. Second time they replaced circuit board and it worked for another 8 months. So I paid $1.500 for a TV that died again after 1,5 year - this is ridiculous.
I have no idea what the reason might be and I wont try to fix this since samsung tech could not fix it without replacing circuit board.
I have this TV. My father in law tried to turn it on one day and it started making a clicking sound and never came on. So he went out and bought a new tv and gave it to me. It came on when I brought it home and worked for a couple weeks. Then just the other day it stopped working. When you hit the power button the light around it blinks four times and then you here a clicking sound. TV does not come on. Took the back panel off and I don't see any damaged caps or fuses.
I just had the same problem with my samsung 46". We were watching a movie and the picture went out. It is still out.l we turned it off and on and still no picture. I'ts been out all day. Any suggestions?????
