Frigidaire Washer Model FWT647GHSO

The washer is "marking" items being washed. I don't know if it is grease or dirt. I need to fix the issue before we ruin something important.

thanks for your help

I changed the boot on the door, I removed and cleaned the soap and softener dispenser, cleaned the drum and still the problem persisted and the unit is not even five years old. What a piece of junk frigidaire is. Need to buy a new one.

I have the shaking problem and marking on the clothing.

Did you fix yours? and how much did it cost for parts and what parts were replaced?

I had the same problem with my FWT647GHSO front loader shaking, the bearings in the outer rear drum were gone, I repair machinery for a living not appliances ( except my own ) and the job took me close to 4 hours to complete, it is working well now but I did notice some hairline cracking on the yoke that holds the inner basket so I guess it's time to start saving my pennies for a new one :( too bad the inner drum is ~$200.00 or I would endure the 4 hours labor again to replace that as well. Best of luck

The shaking we had as well. No dirt or anything, but it was the unit that controls the shaking that control the motor. about 150$ for the unit.

It's the greese from the bearings. The seal has broken and the machine is on a one way road to the junk yard. I have the exact same model and looking for a replacement at this time. It will start to shake/make VERY loud knocking. I've talked to numerous repairmen.

My clothes are being stained by brown/black marks. I think it is an oil leak into the drum. Is it a seal and is it easy to fix? Frigidaire Gallery Model # FWT647GHSO

Spots on clothing in a washer are usually caused by a reaction between detergent and fabric softeners, but to check and see if these spots are petroleum based (oil), try removing the spots with solvent. If the spots will come out with solvent, but not with soap and water, then it could be transmission oil that is leaking into the tub and this is very bad news. This was a common problem on the older GE and Hotpoint washers. Sorry to hear about the problem that you are having and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Dirt streaks appear after laundering

Grease seal for the bearings need to be replace. Unless you are a DIYer this is an expensive repair. Labor to install a new grease seal is about 400 to 500 dollars depending on the area. Parts will run about 100 to 150 dollars. The grease seal is cheap about a $10.00 part, but since ypou have the washer torn apart, and the grease seal has fail, you should also replace the bearings.

Clothes are dirtier after washing...

The problem with your front load washer is a broken rear bearing. If you remove the rear panel, you will see brown "gunk" all over.
If you want to repair it on your own, order this:

go to your local appliance store and ask for "Affresh" washer cleaner. works excellent. If hubby need to get into the machine have hime clean out the pump. You probably have **** in there thats also contributing to the problem. good luck

Load noise in final spin cycle

turn the tub on the inside if it feels ruff as it turns and makes a noise then most likely you have a bad rear bearing, if it is smooth in turning and no noise then turn to drain or spin possibly something stuck in drain pump. the drain pump will start up first if you hear the noise then the drain pump is accessed from the front lower cover, if its the rear bearing probably not worth fixing about 400.00 in parts and alot of work.
