Question about Acer Aspire™ T180 PC Desktop
My desktop shuts down suddenly at random times. There doesn't seem to be a trigger and it shuts off and stays off. Sometimes it won't turn back on. It seems to help to unplug the power source from the back, let it sit for a minute, and then plug it back in. You can hear it power back up after you plug it in. Any ideas?
Sounds like you have a faulty power supply. The internal parts of your pc produce alot of heat, and if a part is heating up, then it will cause your pc to shut off.
With you saying that unplugging it , and then waiting , and then it comes back on, it sounds like once some part has cooled off, then the pc works.
My bet would be your power supply. Do make sure however, that all your parts are still tight in their sockets.. ie processor, memory , etc. I saw a pc that shut off at random times because the heat sink didn't make good contact with the processor once in college. So you want to check those things.
