Air Conditioning My 2001 deVille air conditioning runs cold on the passenger side and rear seat systems, but is warm most of the time on the drivers side. When it is very hot outside the whole system will occasionally go warm, but cycles back cold without much change in driving conditions. I have checked the cooling system fluid levels and topped it off with DexCool. That didn't seem to change anything. I didn't think it would because the engine temp was pretty steady before. I don't think its a refrigerant level problem because it really does blow cold at times. I also don't think the compressor is cycling off and on because it goes for long periods when it is cold on the passenger side and warm on the drivers. I have changed ever system setting, including air recirculating and nothing seems to improve the situation. Got any ideas?

Try changing the lower temp sensor in the air duct on the drivers side. I bought one and never replaced it. before the part arrived I took the lower sensor out and taped it up and put it back under the dash... not in the air duct housing were it belongs. believe it or not it works so well I did not even see a need to change the thing.

It sounds to me that one of the cables or servos is loose or faulty causing one or more of the direction flaps to be left open or closed ,whatever the case may be ..hope this helps

Air conditioning system, when you turn on the air conditioner the drivers side blows cold air and the passengers side blows hot air? What causes this problem?

The most common cause of this is that you have a stuck air temperature control blend door, this can be a motor actuator issue or a jammed door or both (common). To replace both parts you will need to completely remove the dash from the car to access the blend door.

Air conditioning blows cold on drivers side but warm air on passengers side.

dodge has dual blend door actuators on the air box. you have to pull the dash board assembly out to access the passenger side door actuator. it calls for 5.8 hours to do this job. you also have to evacuate and recharge the ac system.

Air Conditioning

I'm going to assume the fan louvers (that direct air from wind shield head to feet ect) are electronically controlled. If that is the case, then a motor may have died. You only have one AC system for the vehicle, so if its cold on one side, then the fault lies within the air ducting system. Maybe a mouse built a nest in there and is blocking air flow?
