Question about Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder/VCR
(site won't let me post with this specific product, forgive me for asking with a misleading product tag)
trying to help my pops from miles away.
his new machine, dmr-ea38v, displays vertical, evenly distributed snowy lines while watching television, though vhs/dvd playback is undistorted.
he reports this problem occurs only while watching the basic cable channels. premium channels come through "improved" if anything. this problem occurs even when the unit is shut off.
cables are attached as directed in the manual.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i'm ready to strangle him, shoot the machine & call it a day.
I would start by checking which scart leads are in which connections and check which av channel you have the player on.
e.g. AV1 connected to the TV, AV2 connected to the decoder.
Then the DVD player viewing/recording channel should be on AV2 not AV1. Does he have any high powered/frequency devices close by?
