If you are trying to eject the cd and it wont come out and reads error but you can see the cd you are in luck. you can take another cd and hit the eject and slot button and while it is trying to eject slide the other cd in the changer and barley push down on the cd that is stuck...your cd should come out....i have an 02 escape and all it does is eat cd's
I had this happen twice just after I purchased my ESCAPE new in 2002. First time dealer couldn't find a problem. Next time I insisted on a fix and they fixed. A capacitor had failed and was replaced in the CD changer.
You will have to remove and open the changer, and remove cd that way, hope this helps

It doesn't always work, but you could try pulling the fuses and putting them back in. You probably have 2 fuses for it.
