Question about Hampton Bay 24002 Ceiling Fan

1 Answer

I have a Hampton Bay celing fan with a light and no instructions. I can get most of it but need to know what to do with the blue wire. I assume it is for the light and should be connected with the white wire but not sure

    Because I do not have a separate switch for the fan and the light would I connect the Blue wire to the Black or White for power?

The blue wire DOES NOT go with the white. The blue wire is the one which controlls the light.

Trying to connect a ceiling fan light kit. I connected the blue wire from the fan kit to the black wire in the light kit and then connected the white wire from the fan kit to the white wire in the light...

Those connections sound OK ,, now you have to go to the canopy and see if all the wires for the fan/light are connected to a house wire. If there are two switches , then the blue fan wire would connect to the red wire .. it may be capped off in the ceiling. If there is only one control switch , then the blue wire from the fan will connect to the same ceiling wire as the black fan wire does.

Blue, is usually international color for the NEUTRAL wire. EUROPE BROWN==PHASE BLUE===NEUTRAL Green/Yellow stripe==EARTH. (Most important wire)
USA. BLACK==PHASE WHITE==NEUTRAL GREEN/BARE==EARTH (Most important wire)

Where is a Hampton bay repair center in Mich. I need a the part hangs the celing fan to the Elc box.

Hampton bay is owned by home depot and to the best of my knowledge there are no repair centers for hampton bay fans. That bracket can be purchased (or ordered) from home depot. You could try searching "king of fans" online, they manufacture hampton bay fans for home depot.

I have the Hampton Bay 5-Light Track Lighting

Skill, patience, preseverance, and experience. You ned to cut and strip the wires so they "just fit" into the space provided leading to the connectyion screws. no room for stuffing , and no extra wiggle room for and bends or kinks .. You mightb try mounting the wires and then pushing the extra wire back up intio the ceiling junction box, thats what I do.

Have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that doesn't work.

I'm pretty sure that home depot does sell remotes for that brand, although you may have to buy a new receiver to go with it. Otherwise try a lighting store near where you live. They seem to be able to order things like that.

Wiring a Hampton Bay ceiling fan

Hi Rexter,

I would pull the cover off of the Light switch and look at the color of the wire leaving the Variable speed device. I only assume the red wire is from that. I do not like to assume anything. So you must verify that a red wire leaves the Variable speed device. If it does, then i am assuming you dim the lights with this Variable device. The fan has its own built in Variable speed setup. In the case that the red wire belongs to the variable device, wire the Red to Blue(light), and Black to Black Whites to white. Green to Ground. bare wires to ground.
