Hi, Hold switch operates by sliding its cover little bit and if you slide cover all the way, usb port will pop out. Slide cover few times that might fix stuck hold switch inside. Hop this info will help you. Thanks
On your Sansa mp3 player there is a little switch that should slide that has an icon of a locked padlock on one end and an open padlock on the other, slide it to the open padlock side and try to power it on.
you have a broken hold switch, possibly the slider is just disconnected from the actual switch, maybe a torn ribbon cable. if you are not under warranty you can try to fix it yourself : iPod classic repair guide.
First, try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.
