Thermal fuse was replaced. One month later fuse was blown again.

What parts does the theral fuse protect?

  • edatkeson Feb 02, 2009

Same problem, first time we replaced the fuse that clips to the edge of the housing, ($17.) worked for a year. It went out again and we replaced the fuse but it only worked for three weeks. What is causing the fuse to blow?
    thanks in advance!

There will be a thermal fuse located on the electronic control board housing that may have failed. This replaceable part (gray or white) is clipped on to the side of the plastic housing.

Kenmore 665 no power

No power at all? First thing to check is that the dishwasher power cord is plugged in under the sink. Make sure the plug didn't become dislodged. Then, check the circuit breaker at the electrical panel to make sure the breaker didn't trip. Open up the door to the electrical panel and look for a switch marked "dishwasher" or "kitchen outlets." Switch it off and then back on to reset it. Those are the easy fixes. Next you'll need a repairman.

Diswasher seems to have no power

Check the wall socket that your dishwasher is plugged into. If that's good, then check the wires in the junction box just behind the toe-kick panel (on the right). If that's good, then you have to take the door apart, and look for the thermal fuse attached to the control board or module with a plastic clip. That is probably bad (open). If you need a new thermal fuse, you can check SearsPartsDirect.com, RepairClinic.com, EasyApplianceParts.com, or AppliancePartsPros.com.

How to install new door spring on portable dishwasher

Things You'll Need:
  • Owner's manual
  • Screwdriver
  • Replacement spring (optional)
  1. Turn off the power to your Kenmore dishwasher before attempting any repairs. If you have a portable Kenmore dishwasher, you can just unplug the power cord from the wall. Built-in dishwashers are hard-wired into the cabinet, so you will have to turn off the breaker switch at the home's circuit breaker box to cut the power.
  2. 2 Remove the screws that hold the kickplate onto the lower front of the Kenmore dishwasher. Take the kickplate off to access the door springs.
  3. Check the door springs to make sure they have not come loose from the door support or the adjustment holes on the dishwasher. Re-attach any ends that have slipped off their connections.
  4. Replace the springs if they are connected at both ends but still do not have enough tension to support the weight of the door. Once a Kenmore dishwasher door spring is stretched out, it cannot be restored to its original condition. Unhook one end of the old spring from the adjustment hole. Unhook the other end from the door support and discard the spring. Insert one end of the replacement spring into the adjustment hole and the other end into the hook on the door support.
  5. Open and close the door a few times to make sure the spring is now working properly. The door should not bounce up and down or sag on the hinges when it is in the open position.
  6. Restore power to your Kenmore dishwasher by plugging it back in or turning on the switch at the home's circuit breaker panel.

My dishwasher seems to not be getting any power and no lights are lighting up. It is still plugged in and I already tried resetting breaker. Any suggestions?

HI. Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

If everything checks out ok with the above suggestion, the main control sector(timer or control board), will be the culprit.

The control sector must be replaced, in this case.

Kenmore 17052 is not working

Could be the electrical connection to the machine (behind toe panel), a fuse near the electronic control, the door switches, or the electronic control. P.S. is there a switch behind the counter, or under the sink which powers the dishwasher?
