DVD+R is a Sony format, so it may not play in the more common -R format players. Are you finalizing the DVD's if not they will only play on the deck that recorded them

Want to copy vhs to dvd.

I convert VHS to DVD using a Toshiba DVD Recorder that I purchased from Costco a few years back. I plug the VCR into the DVD recorder using RCA jacks, press PLAY on the VCR and REC on the DVD recorder and let it sit and record. I can record up to 8 hours of video onto one DVD at low quality. After this, I finalize the DVD so it can be read on other DVD players.

I have Toshiba D-VR660KU, I've copied several VHS

you need to finalize the disc or "make compatable" or "close session". basically the disc needs to be finished off to be able to play on any dvd player. dvd-r will normally play on any player as it is the standard format dvd discs. dvd+r/rw discs do not need to be finalized, but don't play on all machines.

RCA DRC 8310 - not copying from VHS to DVD. When I am playing the VHS tape I press the COPY button, it says that is copying for about 10 seconds and then stops and locks up,. If I press the RECORD...

stay with the 8x dvd (these recorders look and only work with certain types of dvds)...if your manual says maxell stay with it dont look for the brandless sale...use 8x unless your have updated your machine with new firmware from the mfr. for that 16x...are you trying to record HBO / DISNEY? its not going to be allowed on DVD...yes you can record both onto tape...but not digital..(I put all my movies onto dvd, my kids still have tape DISNEY)

hope this help

It sounds like the recorder will only record the dvd+ format, which does NOT need finalizing to play in other machines. ( you can record a dvd- , play it back on the machine you recorded it on, but need to finalize it to play on other machines)
The other units may only accept dvd-.(dvd- being the same format as you would buy or rent a film on)
One option, record the dvd on a dvd+rw (if possible) then copy to a dvd-r using your computer. The average use of a dvd+ is 1000 recordings.
There are many free disc burning suites available to download. Just google "free disc burning software" and take your pick.
I use 1 called "magix goya base" for copying disc to disc and "NTI" for burning to HDD and then to disc, if you only have use of 1 drive.

VHS -DVD RCA Flashes in blue color

if i understand your statement, you are having an issue copying either VHS to DVD or vice versa, most media today has built in copyright protection to prevent what you are trying to do, there are PC softwares to bypass these, but you will have to hook the player to your PC using a TV Tuner, or an Application called VHS to DVD or something similar,

DVD recorded discs (from VHS) do not play on other dvd players

I called the manufacturer. They admitted to improper instructions. They provided me a fix to their copying protocol and it worked. Also, they game me instructions on how to fix already copied tapes. It works well and I would have to say I was impressed with their customer/technical service.

VCR, DVD, TV Connection

first let me say that a dvd player and a dvd recorder are different. the dvd player can only play dvd while a dvd recorder can both play and record dvd that is said. what i understand from what you write is currently is - out of your tv box into your dvd player then out of your player into your tv........ ok some dvd has two connections. line one and line two if your tv box is in line one then you should plug the rca cable in line two in. then you select line two on the dvd player then plug the other end to your vcr in line out so that is out of your vcr into line two of your dvd player.(some times one of the connection is at the front of your player hidden) if your dvd player only have one connection then you would have to plug out your tv box and replace it with the vcr cable and when you finish coping your vhs tape you plug in back your tv box to your dvd player. hope i could help.......... The easiest thing to do would be get a new TV plain and simple sounds as if you could use one n e ways. But first make sure you are hooked up through coaxal to the tv that will allow everything to run on channel 3. Let me know your current hookup.
