There are 2 types of correction tapes, a sticky type and a non sticky type. The sticky type is for the IBM selectric series. If you have print wheel, you need the non sticky type. Touch the tape and see if it sticks to your finger, if it does, you have the wrong tape.
To my knowledge the 999 ribbon is the best avaivable. Try these things. put a little light (WD40 works well) oil on the back side of the print solenoid, then perss code and "Q" the display will show 1,2 or 3 set it at 3 and then try code "B" for bold print. These should help.
the comon reason a wheelwriter will not print is because of a broken milling selnoid cap on the print senolid. Check and see if the print hammer is jiggleing a little when you print-if so all you need is the cap.
