Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

1 Answer

Itunes/computer problem? I've had iTunes before with my first iPod, it crashed about a year ago. Now I have a new iPod (my first one was stolen) and I have a problem. I unistalled and completely rid my computer of the first crashed iTunes, I went to the Apple website and downloaded the newesr one. It gave me the same error as before:₪t=itunesproblem.jpg I called Apple help and was told it was because I have a Dial up internet connection. I was told that someone could put the iTunes program on a disc for me and I could install it then. Best Buy does it for free, so I went there and got my disc. I brought it home, put it in, installed it and STILL am getting the same error message. I called Best Buy and told them my story, they said it has something to do with my computer. Before I bring it in and have to pay them money I don't have and money my parents won't pay to fix the problem (I don't know what is wrong yet) I wanted to see if I could get help and figure the problem out myself. Please! IF anyone has any idea what the problem could be and how I could fix it, email me at

I tried, it was almost the exact same thing I've been trying, but I tried it nonetheless. It didn't work. Thanks for posting the link though.

I don't have an answer to your specific problem without having the PC in front of me but PLEASE don't let Geek Squad touch your computer. You will lose everything, pay an astronomical price, and I'm sure it's just something really simple. If you must take it somewhere, look for a local pc repair shop.

How to Transfer Files from iPod to a New Computer Without the Old Computer?

If these files are a part of a app, you should be able to plug your iPod into the new computer. Open itunes and navigate to the App section in the iPod contents. Once you've located the app in question you should be able to scroll to the bottom of the screen and see the files associated with that app.

If you're speaking of music, any music purchased through iTunes will load once you've signed into iTunes with your Apple ID account. If these songs were not purchased through iTunes and you don't have access to the original files, there is no practical way to transfer the music.

I just bought ipod touch i cannot do anythiing because all you can see is itune logo

The iPod Touch gives users the ability to enjoy videos and music while on the go. Users can also surf the Internet on the iPod Touch. Before you can start using the iPod Touch, though, the device will need to be activated. When you activate the iPod Touch, you will register the device and sync the player with your iTunes account. Completing this process will allow you to purchase content from the pre-installed App Store and iTunes applications found on the iPod Touch.

1. Connect the Apple iPod Touch to the computer using the iPod Touch USB cord.

2. Open iTunes on the computer.

3. Click the word "iPod" underneath the "Devices" menu, located on the left part of iTunes.

4. Click the "Continue" button in the middle iTunes window. Then, click the "License Agreement" box. Click the "Continue" button once more.

5. Enter your iTunes Store account information inside the middle iTunes window. Then, click "Continue." Then, type in the requested personal information (such as name, address, etc.) to register the iPod Touch with Apple.

6. Click the "Not Now" button on the "Mobile Me" page to skip this step. Signing up for Mobile Me isn't necessary for activating the iPod Touch.

7. Select the "Set up as new iPod" option inside the middle of iTunes. Enter a name for your iPod Touch inside the text box that's in the iTunes window. Then, click "Continue."

8. Choose one of the sync settings listed in the center iTunes window. Whether you decide to manually or automatically sync your iPod Touch with iTunes is up to you--you can change this setting at any time. After you've selected a sync setting, click "Done." The iPod Touch will be activated. From here, you can add music to your iPod Touch or disconnect the player. Only disconnect the iPod Touch after you see the "OK to Disconnect" message appear at the top of iTunes.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

My ipod doesnt want to read in my computer as soon as i dowloaded itunes. I'm running windows operating system but I didn't seem to have problems until now. I can't access the usb driver. My...

Try restarting the iPod and connect it again. If it doesn't recognize it try it on another PC, if it still isn't detected it is the iPod. Buying a Mac wouldn't help nor hurt the situation, it would just be an expenditure.

I for got my code to my ipod and can not ulock it

Glad to HELP YOU!

You can perform a password-rest via iTunes on the computer that you used to sync your iPOD before (don't try on other machine! It will be useless!).
So connect via USB cable your iPOD to your computer; turn ON your iPOD once connected; start iTunes and you will get a message that says "your device is locked with a passcode"; in iTunes go on SUMMARY and select RESTORE; it's done!
Now - on your iPOD go on SETTINGS and select PASSWORD and choose a new one.
But you will find all of them on your computer, on the iTunes file, in VIDEOS and MUSIC.

My best wishes!

Move Itunes songs from my Ipod to a new computer

Everytime you install itunes for your iPod it sync'c for ones with your iPod. And on next time if you try to put it into another dock on a different computer the software asks for "Erasing the Data inorder to sync your iPod within that system",and its a common feature can't be changed!!!
The only thing to avoid this happening is try to back-up the iTunes library which is saved in My Documents-->My Music-->iTunes-->iTunes Library(WINDOWS system). And after a fresh installation of another iTunes, paste your back-up file to the new saved area in My Documents-->My Music-->iTunes itself :ask for replace , to replace all. Then from that it uses your previous iTunes data's itself.
Hope this Helped!
