How do I remove the control panel on Panasonic microwave Model NN-H275.

  • joy murray Jan 07, 2009

Panasonic NNA773. I think I have the same sort of problem with my model, only my door open button doesn't appear to press on anything. So the door open levers are in the open position, and the door latches therefore not engaging in anything. How do I 'get into' the back of the button?

I have a similar problem. THe door latch on my NN_H275 would not go high enough to unlatch when i pressed the open door button. Unfortunately we've been using a knife to manually raise the latch by slipping the knife though thespace between the door and the microwave and now the door latch is about to fall off because a crack has grown every time the knife puts pressure on it to open the latch. Do you know where I can g et a new latch or door? thanks

First unplug the microwave for safety reasonsTake side panels off and press the button through from the back, my husband has just done this tonight on our Panasonic microwave model NN-ST477 as the door would not open. He found a piece of plastic like a hook had snapped off. The door now opens and functions normally. It has two hooks , one had broken off so he just turned the button round to where the good hook was on the inside and replaced the button.Took about 30 minutes to do . If and when it becomes stuck again we know that the remaining hook has snapped off and we will need a new replacement button. Hope this helpskind regardsChristine

What usually breaks is the door open lever.

On a counter top model, the outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this. On an over-the-range model, only the control panel needs to be removed.

Please unplug the oven first.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:

Once it is apart, you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

If you reply back to this with your brand and model number, we can steer you toward a part source, and possibly toward exploded view diagrams, etc.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Why will door not open

This happens when the latch hook loosens up and moves so that the door will not open when you press the button.
It's a very easy fix, but should be done by a repair person so that the door can be adjusted propery and no microwaves escape.

Replaced 20amp fuse that was blown. new fuse did not blow, but oven is still dead.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If your microwave oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these: Fuses Door switch Fuses Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it. Door switch If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work

Can not open the door in microwave the release button springs seem to not working can that be fixed. Have opened the release button but cannot see the problem

Do not pry the door open since there is an easier remedy which will lead you in the direction that you need to fix your problem. Take the cover off after you disconnect the power to it. Once you have taken the cover off (only a few screws) you will be able to see the two latches that hold the door closed and the link that opens both of them. You can just lift both latches at the same time and it will open. After you have done that take a good look and press in on the open door button and you will see where you have the problem of the door hanging. That button should push a linkage that pushes up on both latches at once to open the door. It is spring loaded so that it comes back down so that when you close the door it will hold the door close. You need to take the cover off the microwave so that you can pull both of the latches that hold the door closed up. When you push the button in it engages a linkage that pushes both taches up at the same time to open the door. It is springloaded and will come back down during normal operation to hold the door closed when you close it again. That area is where your problem is. By looking at what happens when you press the open door button you should be able to readily see where the problem lies in that linkage

Spacemaker II door latch problem

Most microwave ovens have catches that are shaped like hooks, these hooks catch on a fixed bolt or a raise in the frame of the oven.

The next time you get the oven open check these hooks to see if the springs are working in a strong positive manner, or if you have to push a button on the model check to see that the button releases the hooks.

Hope this helps.

Door wont open

After unplugging the microwave, I took the side/top panel off by removing the screws on the back*. Inside I found the piece that had broken off the part that pushes the door release. I then glued this piece back on using "Extreme Power" medium advanced performance instant adhesive. I bought this glue in a hobby shop in Richardson, Texas. I waited 12 hours for the glue to set. The door has been opening for the last two days.
*With the cover off, you can open the door by pushing the door release.

Panasonic microwave door is stuck. The door is not opening

If you push in on the open door button and it just goes in and does not open the door, then the problem is that the plastic piece that actually opens the door has broken. You can verify this by removing the cover from the microwave and look inside. If you are handy just buy the part from the panasonic parts store in your city and replace it. If not take it in and they will replace it for you.

Good luck
