Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone
I just called Verizon about the keyguard being too easy to unlock and they were clueless. But here's a solution: As above, using the OUTSIDE keypad, click OK, go down to keyguard settings (number 6), then hit unlock options (number 2). This gives you the option of using a one step unlock process (hitting the OK key) or a two step (hitting the OK then the Clear). I think it is still too easy to accidently answer the phone but at least this will cut down on the dialing.

Look under "Settings & Tools", then "Keyguard Timer"? There should be several time options.

From the main screen, press ok once. You will see a numbered list of things (1. contacts 2.messaging, etc.) Scroll down to 6. keyguard setting and click ok. set your desired time and you are good to go!

Dude.. you seriously go through all those options to Lock the phone everytime you're done with it? That's insane! Isn't there a shortcut to lock the phone?

On the front screen press ok and go down to keyguard settings and from there you can change it to always off, 7 seconds, 15 seconds, or 30 seconds

Only thing I find to help me, from calling people accidentally or whatever else it decides to do while in my pocket is to lock the phone every time I put it up. A huge pain yes, but less embarrassing than unwanted calls etc.
Settings and Tools #9
Phone Settings #6
Enter lock code(whatever you made it)
Lock Phone Now #4
I can answer calls, but to make one I have to enter the code first. Have to do it everytime.

They keyguard only helps sometimes. it's really pretty lame cause if you have anything in your pocket it is very easy to accidentally hit "ok" which in turn makes it easy to call or text people in your pocket.
it should be a series of buttons instead of just the one. i call people all the time without knowing it

You have to use the menu on the outside of the phone, looking under "Settings & Tools" then "Keyguard Timer"

From the manual, the shortcut to locking the phone without going through the menus is to hold the x character for 3 seconds on the inside QWERTY keyboard (doesn't work from the outer keypad); you will notice there is a little picture of a lock above the x.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
