Re: Coby DVD-925M DVD drawer won't open
Yea like the manufacturer said it is likely froze I have seen this before. If you can try you would want to take the casing off. then you can manually turn the "cogs" and gears and also be able to "pry" it open easier. Keep me posted if you need anything. Thanks, Lee

Try manually pushing dvd drawer in after pushing open/close. I opened mine up and noticed the dvd is not spinning - I don't think the drawer is completely closing over. BTW this is not a permanent fix - it doesn't work all the time.
That happens when you close the drawer instead of pressing the close button you can skip gears and it would have to be taken apart and re-calibrated. Sometimes it is just a glitch that you can over-ride using a straight pin into a small hole on the front (assuming this uses a drawer).
Locate your DVD player’s manual Eject button. It is usually a small hole located underneath the DVDdrawer.
Insert a stiff wire—such as a paperclip or safety pin—into the hole. Push gently and the drawer should open partway. Gently pull the drawer the rest of the way open.
Remove the DVD and see if there is a problem with it. Most DVD player drawers get stuck when a DVD is warped or the label is starting to peel. If the DVD is warped, discard it. If the label is peeling, remove the label.
Turn your DVD player back on. If it gets stuck again on a different DVD, then the problem may be with your DVD player rather than with your DVDs. If this is the case you should have it serviced or perhaps it is time for a new one.
Manually open the tray. It's possible that you have a dvd stuck in the drawer because it wasn't fully seated. Look at at the front of the drive and you will see a tiny hole. Take a paper clip or safety pin, stick it in the hole and push. You will see that the drawer will pop out and you can retrieve your stuck dvd. Thanks for using fixya.com
Hello buivan, i wish i can make it bigger. but the file is too large to fit in. However, you can do the ff: if drawer bezel won't open by the eject button, do it manually. Turn over the console. you will see a slot underneath the front panel. use a small screwdriver and rapidly move the screwdriver toward the rear of the console. This will press in the built-in eject pin and cause the DVD drawer to open. Gently unclip the DVD drawer bezel from the front and lift it off. Remove 6 screws to open the console if you want to repair the DVD ROM made by Toshiba.
I have the same DVD unit in my new camper. The COBY customer support department said there is definitely a problem and should be shipped back to them with a Money Order for $18 for shipment/handling. Must include all speakers etc. Perhaps it will be less to purchase a more reliable brand name.
