Question about Acer AL2671W 26 in. LCD Television
I have a AL2671W which up until a few weeks back was working fine. Then one day the screen went blank but I could hear the sound. I switched it off and switched it back on. The green LED came on but when I press it to turn the TV on nothing.
Please can someone help as the TV is no longer under warranty and if this is something I can fix myself I would rather do that then paying out.
Sounds like the problem is either the LCD itself or the connection from the circuit board to the LCD. The light comes on, so power is available. The internals of the TV are all solid state (on a circuit board). Because of this, I would not attempt a repair unless you are familiar with electronics and soldering. There could be many problems. I would see about getting an estimate from a local TV repair person and see if they will tell you what exactly is wrong. Also, I would unplug it and open it up to see if there are any loose connections...however, be careful because if there are any capacitors in the circuit, you can get shocked. While inside, look for loose connections or burnt/discolored components or wires. This will give you an idea of the problem. Probably easier and cheaper to **** it up and buy a new one, but you never know...
