Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner

The unit worked fine last year but now the compressor will not start and after as short while either the generator breaker or the panel breaker will trip. I do hear a relay clicking at the unit when I turn it on at the thermostat.

It worked fine last year. This year it throws the breaker on the gen. After 2 or 3 min. The fan works on low and high but it trips on low or high ac its a model 6759c707

If all is the same as when it ran good, such as same power cord (no extension, or properly sized extension ) same generator output voltage etc, then I'd check amp draw when compressor kicks in. Good chance compressor start capacitor may be faulty.

Dometic rv air conditioner well not run

unfortunately this is generally a sign the compressor is bad. Not always, but generally. the compressor needs to be isolated and checked for shorts to ground. (it could also be another component or wiring issue that has shorted the unit to ground causing the breaker to trip.

Compressor won't kick off

What happens when started in just fan mode? Sounds like relay stuck.

RV A/C COMPRESSOR RUNS CONSTANTLY

You must isolate the problem by disconnecting the thermostat wires that go to the unit. If the compressor does not run when the t-stat wires are disconnected, that shows that the t-stat is malfunctioning, or there is a short in the wiring between the t-stat and the ac unit.

If the unit continues to run after disconnecting the t-stat wires, then you'll have to look in the unit for a stuck relay

Brisk air, dometic rv a/c unit I can't get the compressor to start, when I turn it on it bogs down & won't start. It draws so much juice it stops my generator.

you must check the amp draw with a meter to verify if the compressor is locked up. if it draws L.R.A. amps which should be listed on the compressor it is lock up and needs replaced.

Compressor will not come on. Fan runs great.

I fixed it. I had a dirty connection on the starter relay for the compressor. Thanks again for the help.

Circuit Breaker and Dometic Rooftop RV Air

Its the watts you plug in too like ither 30 watts vs 50 watts. 30 watts will cause your wires to get hot in the unit. just pull down your breaker box and look at those white ground wires.
