Generally the YTH2348 requires SAE 30 oil and it needs to have detergents in it. Some SAE 30s don't. It should say it on the oil container somewhere. Gas and be any octane but a minimum of 87. Unleaded only.

Generally all 4-cycle lawn mower engines are tuned to use regular unleaded gas ,(I personally use mid or high grade unleaded)....and for engine oil use strait 30 WT engine oil...... I often put a dash of fuel system cleaner in each gallon of lawn mower gas,it is not absolutely neccessary but seems to help moisture stay out of gas..(DO NOT USE HEET or other methenol based fuel additives for this can cause overheating or scoring of piston and cylinder...but rather use a petroleum based additive, this allows the small amounts of moisture in fuel to pass through the carbeurator without clogging filters or fuel system for smoother running)..also...if you put lawn mower up for winter it is always helpful to use a fuel stabilizer such as "STABIL" or other such products (follow directions for use) and be sure to change the crank case oil in the spring before using....this will give you much longer life from your lawn mower...
Keep air filter clean!!!..... Happy mowing!!!....so, the answer?...regular unleaded and 30wt engine oil...if you would like..they have special engine oil for 4-stroke engines at most hardware and walmarts n such...but is just expensive 30wt oil... Enjoy your day,Todd

What type of gas to use in a craftsman edger 358.773110

FUELING ENGINE This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline must be mixed with a good quality 2-cycle air*cooled engine oil. We recommend Craftsman brand oil. Mix gasoline and oil at a ratio of 40:1 (A 40:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 3.2 ounces of oil with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline). DO NOT use automotive oil or boat oil. These oils will cause engine damage. When mixing fuel, follow instructions printed on container. Once oil is added to gasoline, shake container momentarily to assure that the fuel is thoroughly mixed. Always read and follow the safety rules relating to fuel before fueling your unit.

I HAVE A CRAFTMAN LAWN MOWER 6 HP SELF PROP RUN FOR 2 OR 3 MINUTES ONLY I CHANGE THE OIL GASOLINE AND S/PLUG CAN YOU HELP ME TO FIX IT?

It sounds like you have a bad Ignition Coil (Module). This is how they act when they start going bad. When they get warm, they quit. Some will last up to 20 minutes before they shut down. You can sometimes find a used one pretty cheap at a small engine shop.

Problem:gasoline mixes with engine oil on 6hp. Craftsman lawn mower.

Hard starting? excessive choking caused by excessive cranking, try a tuneup, beware of Gas in the
oil, it will thin the oil out and result in the engine throwing a rod or seizing

I found Gasoline inside My Craftsman riding mower engine, this is the third time I have to drain it and replace it with new oil, somehow gasoline is flowing inside and I have no idea where it is coming...

There is a fuel shut off solenoid on the bottom of the carb and it is most likely stuck open. The gravity flow of the fuel causes it to force through the carb, through the intake valve, through the cylinder and then into the oil sump.

Oil leak on riding Craftsman LT2000 (Kohler)

Fortunately, the engine oil doesn't go through any rubber hoses, so they are mouse-proof. The oil probably leaked out through an engine seal. Oil on the engine surfaces would smoke when it gets hot. Check your oil level and top it up if necessary, before you run the engine again. The engine can run fine even with a slow oil leak; you just have to watch the oil level from time to time. The leak could be easy to fix - by tightening up a few bolts -- or expensive.
The gas runs through rubber hoses, though. If mice ate through that, I think you would have smelled the gasoline, and the engine wouldn't run for more than a few seconds. But if you see a severed hose, you should replace it. Take it off and bring it to a mower shop or auto supply shop, and buy something the same diameter. Inexpensive.
Hope this helped! If so, please rate my answer, thanks!

Craftsman SnowBlower

The term "Unleaded gas only" refers to the type of gasoline to be used. You would use "Unleaded gasoline" instead of "Leaded gasoline". Yes, you will mix oil with the gas normally at a ration of 50 to 1. (1 pint of oil to 6 gallons of "Unleaded Gasoline"). If you do not put oil into your gasoline, you will burn your engine up due to lack of oil. I hope this helped, Good Luck Please rate me, Thanks

No it's sounds like the float in carb is stuck I've had 3 motors do this I put a fuel shut off in the line after I cleaned the carb out and rebuilt it. The problem is the gas breaking down an gumming up the float in carb. Drain the oil and an run some oil thur it to get the old gas out make sure you clean the carb out to.
