Monitor comes on when computer turns on. I can see win 98 run, then monitor goes black and a message reads out of range. Can't see anything after that but the computer is obviously on.

With another monitor attached to your computer, right click anywhere on the desk top. Click on properties. Select the Settings tab. change the settings to 800 x 600 with a refresh rate of 60 hertz. Now attach the Liquid Video TV.
I beleive that 800 x 600 is the maximum screen resolution that this TV / monitor can support.

Monitor's resolution need to be increased, how?

Hi

You don't say which operating system you are using.

The monitor resolves images across a fixed range of resolutions and resfresh rates.

It is the resolution of the graphics card or graphics adapter that can be changed, not that of the monitor.

Right click on empty space on your desktop > properties > settings.

Left click and hold on the slider and slide to the right in stages.

Each resolution change offers you a test page to accept or reject.

When satisfied Apply > Yes > Ok.

To reset the Refresh Rate:

Properties > settings > Advanced > Refresh Rate.

Then restart your computer.

Be careful not to exceed the resolution/refresh rate range of your monitor (1280 x 1024) / 75.0 Hz because if you do, when you restart the computer, the monitor will be unable to resolve the image and you will get a blank screen and/or an Out Of Range error message.

An out of range problem might only be resolved by using a different monitor to reset the resolution back to within the range of the preferred monitor.

Hope this helps

Monitor displays Msg. frequency out of range, screen is black

Start your computer and press the F8 when the manufacturer's logo screen is showing. This will bring you to the Windows startup menu. Pick "start in VGA mode" and windows will start up with video settings you monitor can handle. Then you can change your video settings so Windows will start normally with your monitor.

Signal out of range

1: Signal out of range meas the monitor can't handle the input refresh rate. lcd and Tft monitors usually supports 60 and 75Hz refresh rates.
2: The Resolution you are using to view the desktop is too high, this number is depending on the size of the lcd monitor.
a 15" lcd usually runs with: 1024x768 with 60hz
a 17" lcd usually runs with: 1280x1024 with 60hz some of them supports 75hz.
a 19" lcd usually runs with 1600x1200 or higher.

I recommend reading the user manual if you have it, or checking the information on the manufacturer's website.

3: As a solution turn on your computer and after it passes the bios screen press F8 and select VGA mode.

This will enable 640x480 (standard vga) resolution and 60Hz refresh rate, after windows boots up you can change thease nmbers , and windows automatically asks for turning to 800x600 60Hz.

If you want to change the resolution go to: Right click on your desktop, select properties , select settings tab, and adjust the resolution on the bottom of the window.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Monitor out of range when a game is booted up

The maximum resolution for the MV540 is 1024X768 @60Hz refresh. The other monitor isn't giving you an error message because not all monitors have that feature, but both the monitors are unable to display whatever data the computer is sending. If the display is normal until you start the game, then the game itself is setting the resolution to something out of the monitors' range. You'd need to set the game up to play at a setting the monitors could handle. I've never played WoW so I have no idea if the game offers a way of selecting the resolution. The game may simply require more graphics capability than your monitor can provide. Most systems now are using 17 or 19-inch flat screens or CRT's, and they offer more resolution and refresh rate options.

Monitor out of range

Most commonly, this problem is caused by an incorrect refresh rate setting. LCD monitors typically DO NOT support refresh rates higher than 60hz - and this is no exception. Try running the game in "safe mode" if it has one. Adjusting the in-game video settings should solve the problem, just look for a screen refresh rate or any video-related setting with a number followed by "hz". Set it to 60, everything should be fine.

It could also be that at some point the game changes resolution (this frequently occurs if there is an in-game movie or cut-scene). In this case the resolution settings for the in-game movie might be at fault, check them if you can.
