When i turn my acer emachine E725 2520 on the power button comes on but display doesn't whats the problem?

Hi percy goodface
Connect your laptop to a different monitor and see if the computer is working.
If it is then your screen is faulty...needs to be replaced.
If your computer is not working then try these tips.
How to reinstall the Operating system on your computer

Select models, with Microsoft Windows, have the ability to have the Operating System reinstalled from a hidden partition built into the computer.
Note: During the process, all data stored on your computer will be overwritten. This means all your files, such as email and photos, will be erased. Therefore, we recommend making a backup of all personal data before starting the recovery process.
To start the system recovery:
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
3.If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
4.After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. If you do not have a set of Acer Recovery Media, you may purchase the set online from the Acer Recovery Media Order Form..
Note: If your computer does not have an internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be required in order to recover the Operating System using Acer Recovery Media.
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
3.Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.
4.Close the CD-ROM tray.
5.Refer to on screen instructions to select either CDROM or USB CDROM.
6.The computer will boot from the Acer Recovery Media
7.When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.

Note: If there are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first of the Recovery CDs.

8. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
Note: if your computer is unable to run the Acer Recovery process, or errors occur during recovery, please contact Acer support.
Please take time to rate me.

Tip

To Reboot or recovery from CD/DVD problem with OS "Aser"

If you don't press the Alt+F10 key combination or use the recovery CDs, can you get into Windows? Boot with the recovery CDs in. When at the Acer logo during POST, press the F12 key. Then, select boot off CD or DVD. Alternatively, you can enter the BIOS by pressing the F2 key at the Acer logo and go to the Boot tab. There, you can set the CD/DVD drive as the first item in the boot order.
When turning your laptop on, before Windows starts booting, a splash screen appears first (usually with the logo of the manufacturer). Look on the splash screen (usually at the bottom) for a key (usually F10 or F11), assigned for System Recovery. Some manufacturer(s) (e.g. HP) place the recovery files to a hidden (mostly) partition of the hard drive, the others give a Recovery CD/DVD with the laptop.
or
  1. Press the start button from the start menu depending on your operating system(win 2000,xp)
  2. Press Ctrl+Alt+delete combination from the keyboard.
  3. If you have a power button on your laptop keyboard,it could also be useful by pressing and hold it down for few seconds

N.B: "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot
or Shutdown. Try and reboot using the operating system. Attempt to use the key combination that will allow you to exit from the operating system and restart the laptop. Be patient, as it may take some time if it has locked up. Hold down the power button. If the operating system's answer to the rebooting will not work, find and hold down the power button of the laptop. This should cause the device to shut itself off. You'll have to press the power button again to power it back on, completing the reboot.
Unplug from the wall and remove the battery. If restarting via the operating system and the power button do not work, unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, and remove the battery from the laptop. This will cause it to power off immediately. Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually.A few seconds should do unless you have additional problems.

All the Best!

I was snet discs to restore the harddrive on my laptop but they will not run?

If you are trying to reinstall the Operating System with the Install CD the check the following:

Ensure that your CD drive is set as the first boot device in your BIOS settings.

Insert the Install CD in the cd drive, and then reboot the computer.

If it asks you to press any key if you to boot from CD, then just do so (ie. push the spacebar).

The Operating System install should then begin.

Since you did not provide any details on what exactly you are trying to install, it is somewhat difficult to provide any additional or more precise directions to solve your problem.

Good luck.

Hi, i cannot get inside windos xp. i'd like to reinstall or reboot my laptop. what am i goin to do? I dont have cd rom. pls. help thanks.

Without the XP CD, you're kind of stuck. If you can get one from a friend, it'll work fine. Once you get a disk, you can boot from the disk by setting your CD-ROM drive as the boot drive or run setup on the disk to start the reformat/reinstall process.

I am having trouble reinstalling the operating system. THe message " remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart." There is nothing in the cd drive or floppy drive. I just want to do a fresh...

Insert the genuine Microsoft CD-ROM disk into the CD/DVD reader. Press any key to reboot the computer, reading from the disk, to start the reinstall.

Is there a prompt to hit a special function key before Windows starts up?
If so, press that key to do a system recovery.
Othewise, you'll have to get a recovery CD or DVD

Cant get on.keeps saying operating system not found.ihave windows xp.can you tell me what to do and why its doing that? Thanks

Do you have the original start up disc? If so use it. If not there is generally a button to use at start up that will get you to a screen where you can restore your computer to a previous date. The button is usually F10 or F11 or one of the f keys. Also make sure that you don't have a disk in one of the drives. Take everything out and try starting it up. Good luck.

Reinstall xp

You have to make certain that the system BIOS are set correctly to boot your CD drive first. If you BOOT sequence is set correctly any cd that is bootable should begin to boot first. So try I believe to depress F2 when you boot up your PC for the first time this takes you into the system setup. System BIOS, goto the boot menu and change the settings to make certain that your CD drive is the first to boot. When you reboot your PC make certaint the CD is in the drive before you reboot. In addition you will quickly see a sentence pop up asking you if you would like to begin setup, and if so, depress any key to boot from cd. This should start the process for you!
