Check the device manager to see if the drivers for the infrared device are there. If they aren't there, then go to Dell's site and download them. If they are, unistall, reinstall, the check Dell's site for updates. If the device manager shows everything working properly, the device itself may be malfunctioning. The same procedure for the bluetooth device.

most of these laptops comes without the bluetooth adapter. So u have to check the manual or visit where you Got your laptop to find out if it came with it. If it has then to Bluetooth radio is turn on. Press Fn+F2 as far the infrared concern it will automatically turned on when the driver installed on D600, check on Device manager for installed drivers. Hope this helps if so do rate the solution
dell latitude D600 only has PC Card slot that supporting wireless cards and Built-in bluetooth, so you have to purchase the bluetooth or infrared device which is of course it is auto detect on windows xp
first of all, did the first solution provider acutally believe that a good dell latitude d600 would be made by such a horrible company as compaq? thats insulting. Secondly, Dell doesn't seem to provide drivers, and i have yet to remember wher i got them in the past. In the mean time, next time you reboot the computer, press F2 to enter the BIOS setup. Press F2 untill you see a page mentioning something about either Infrared, IR, or IrDA. Make sure it is set to enabled. If you are lucky, windows will see it and attempt to download the drivers. Being i am running the Windows 7 Beta, i have yet to convince windows to do that. Good Luck
Hi sam, Seems like ur problem is pretty straight forward...try this Right-click My Computer->Select Properties->Click on Hardware tab->Click Device Manager->From the list click on Network Adapters and tell me if there is an exclamation mark next to your ethernet controller...If yes then its a device driver problem..If not its a device problem...Either ways i will help you out but just let me know what it is..
